Good move for him. It's a level that will test him and a nice local club so he won't need to spend long periods on his own in a hotel room and CAFC will be able to watch him easily.

Needs to carry on learning in League 1 - Defenders know how to bully him but he will learn with games.

Gills fans impressed with him too judging by the reactions mentioned on Radio Kent.

    Good to see.

Azeez made his debut for Dagenham, came on in the 75th minute.

A good calm finish, shame about Gillingham's kit !

Good news, was worried that his confidence would have been so damaged from the Millwall game that it would effect him massively.

Gillingham fan at my college told me when he came on last week he looked awful but glad to see him make an impact this week!
  • Very good finish, for the goal.

Why was Pigott never given a real chance this season (with us that is) ? .. Pigott and Smith as a partnership was never tried in the first team .. I have read all the comments and opinions that 'they weren't ready', and a load of other reasons/excuses from posters why it never happened .. sorry Chris Powell, the decision not to give Smith and Pigott - or should it the lack of a decision to at least experiment with them - smacks of weak management and an inability to get the best from what admittedly is a fairly weak squad of players .. to my mind, far too many unnecessary team changes have been made this season, especially in defence and midfield where team changes were made seemingly for every game, but rarely in attack where our goals for record is just appalling .. settled midfields were/are often changed to no real purpose or effect, yet we saw the same ineffectual strikers turn out game after game .. and Church .. a terrific goal in the cup at Huddersfield and he's now warming the bench .. I just do not understand .. no goals .. you're in .. score a goal .. you're out

Disagree, from what I've seen from Pigott he'd be best getting regular starts out on loan.

Smith obviously didn't get a chance because we were about to bring in 2 strikers that were rated as better players. Wanted to see him get a chance but I don't see the issue now.

Agreed, I'm sorry but Pigott really isn't ready just yet - not an excuse, it's a fact, as proven by his crisis of confidence during the entire Milwall game. Certainly in a high pressure battle against the dreaded drop he is not totally up to task, yet. Though with experience and a confidence boost from a productive loan spell, he could yet be a good player for Charlton (or whoever he is shipped out to by RD ;))
  • We aren't short of strikers now. Really we aren't. We need a winger and centre mid IMO.

Give him time his a good player. All people want to remember is the Millwall game which was a crap decision by Powell in the first place and took his development backwards.

Hope he gets a few games and goals and whenever he comes back to SE7 he has more experience and confidence as he already has the talent.

Good feet and composure from Piggott there. Well taken goal.

And even though he didn't score himself, Smith laid on the winner for Swindon yesterday.
