    17. Scene of the famous 1842 ambush. A dozen kitchen workers, who had just returned from investigative travels to the sub-continent, had their wagons hijacked after crossing the River Loxley, and were murdered and buried in nearby grounds. The area become known as the Chef Field, before over time becoming known as Sheffield.

Sheffield Wednesday was originally known as Sheffield Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday but had to change its name when Craig David sung possibly one of the worst songs in history about the days of the week.

this resulted in then manager, Howard Wilkinson branding David 'a tosser'.

deeply upset by this, David then shut himself away for six months in which time he scripted 'The Full Monty'. David made a fortune out of the film and ended up marrying one of the stars...........Sean Bean (allegedly).
