What helps us is that the league is very different from last season when Peterborough went down with 54 points. At the moment all of the bottom 5 including us are averaging less than a point a game which suggests that as little as 46 points might keep us up. I think that 6 more wins and a few draws will do the trick.

Hopeful, but not confident. Agree it is in our own hands, but those hands are a bit shaky right now.

I believe 44 points may even be sufficient this year.

I have no doubt that we will stay up. End of.

Is that an act of bravery or head in the sand m8 as there's little hard evidence that we will survive?
Neither really. It's just having faith in Chris Powell with the right support from RD which I think he will get. I also have faith in JJ and the team to have the guts to do it for Chris. I just think we have too much in this team not to survive.

    SO hope you're right, Rob.

No question about the lads having the guts.

But do they have the legs ?

I still have a feeling that the six point swing from the Donny abandonment and subsequent win will prove to be significant.

Don Howe once wrote a very good piece about fixture congestion & Airman has also alluded to Howe's point. One season Arsenal had to play over 70 games & Brian Talbot played every minute of every game. Howe said it wasn't a problem physically, the players do less training, but it's the mental side that is difficult. Building up to a big game & lifting themselves for it is difficult for players if they have to do it every two days.

Things have progressed of course & sports scientists will say the body needs proper recovery time between games or it will enter the 'red zone'. If we use the squad properly, the fitness side should be fine. The mental side & being the Football League's lowest scorers are bigger problems.

More confident +1 after this football weekend. It can all go to s**t in he next week though! Better always keep on our toes until it is decided one way or the other, well that's a given.

Will be out the bottom 3 if we beat Bournemouth Tuesday.

More likely a 0-0 draw. I think Charlton will get a surprising victory this month. There will be more room and gaps to hit on the break against the stronger teams who will push forward. That will suit Charlton.

The reason I think we will remain unbeaten is because we are now getting a bit of a siege mentality about the team. We were unlucky against Birmingham despite being the better team.
We beat a strong QPR team last week. We beat Sheffield Wednesday against the odds because we wanted it more.

The Leicester game was a bridge too far and one we were expected to lose - but I think the players we have are now starting to gel a little more and just have a feeling that we will start to turn on some performances and make the valley a bit more of a fortress

You beat us because we didn't turn up simple as that.

Yeh we all remember how we turned up and the Sheffield Wednesday team was nowhere to be seen leaving just the Charlton team and the officials. The ref had to call it off and gave us the victory so we won by default.
It's understandable that you didn't bother turning up as you didn't want the steel derby in the 1st place with the opportunity to go to Wembley.
Its beneath you as your massive.

Agreed - I hope our next few opponents let us play as they search for 3 points - better games and better chances for us.
