Segregation barriers seem like a great idea to me, considering what I've read, about Sheff U "fans" attacking Forest fans outside the ground. And also the Sheff U fan that was knocked unconcious.

Better dig out my tin drawers then.....

Blade1889/Blade will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the bother with Forest dates back to the whole scabs thing. Addicks should be ok, as Kent was evidently the longest county to hold out in the miners strike. Not that CAFC is a Kent club of course!

Planned for a Sheffield derby, Charlton beat Wednesday, police don't want to miss out on the overtime so go ahead with the original plan regardless.

    Nailed it.

I know the weather has been bad lately, but I think these new storm proof trailers really suck the fun out of caravanning.

Has no-one told them that our clubs are united by their dislike of Wednesday fans?
  • Theres always trouble when we play forest mainly because of the scab thing. It was both sets of fans that caused the trouble but we didnt help throwing a pyro in their end and invading the pitch 3 times.

shouldnt be any trouble against you as we have no reason to dislike you and you knocked our neighbours out in the last round but if you have some idiots that come looking for it, they'll get it.

it will be a highly charged cup quarter final with larger numbers than usual of both sets of fans if they feel the game will pass better with these without incident then I don't see the harm really.

If you left the game sunday and they took no precaution and mayhem was everywhere with children and ladies in the middle there would be a fit on here.

Think this backs up the point that SYP had already planned for a Sheffield derby and are carrying on with the same plan in place even though it isn't.

OTT police I reckon but probably reckon it's needed after the forest match.
I still don't understand how the north London derby/ manchester derby/ scouse derby gets the play ahead with just one line of stewards between fans inside the ground and we've got almost a 1000seats segearation section on Sunday.

It probably didn't help when the Sheff Utd fan fired the rocket/flare into the Forest fans hitting a disabled fan in a wheelchair. He was sitting/standing in the seats adjacent to the away fans and he didn't "throw" it, it was "fired".

If he had done that with 1 x row of stewards in between it could have maimed someone for life.

I've heard so many different stories from Forest fans its unreal, it seemed to hit everyone in there stand but I'm almost certain it wasn't a disabled fan as it landed in their main support then was thrown for the stewards to sort out.

There's still no grounds to back up the idiot that did it - no need for stuff like that, same as invading the pitch.

Higher percentage of season ticket holders at those fixtures. Therefore easier to identify people & people have more to lose if caught. This may make it easier for a club to manage and as a result reduce the level of separation.

Monday morning is going to be absolute chaos on here isn't it?

    - Stewards
    - Barriers
    - Standing/Seating
    - Powell.

And of course the obligatory "scapegoating"... Church is my bet, or whichever goalkeeper gets the nod. And if we lose, it will of course be because there is no Kermorgant any more, and RD has deliberately somehow manipulated events to ensure a cup run and guarantees relegation for the sake of money. And some digging out of pro-Powell/sceptics naturally, depending on result. And I think castigating the Sheffield United fans also... yeah the mods are going to be busy on Monday.

I've heard there will be a mass escort from the Jury's Inn where there are 5,000 CAFC fans staying. Including "The Clique"

Whenever it is, we'll never sell out, and the restrictions are completely unreasonable.

Let us hope that any Charlton slung in those cabins are vetted. Those that want to sit and those who want to stand. Otherwise carnage SYP, carnage...

Sadly it won't solve that issue for you ;) Because they aren't cabins, it unfolds to create a metal wall basically, seems to be more there than when I last saw them at hillsborough.

It will be the same as at Palace last season and, depending on the result, possibly the same outcome.

Ah. Sorry my experience of policing at football is purely 20th century...
