anyone interested in making some form of a protest and if so what idea's do you have

I'm as hacked off as anyone about this but feel that any kind of demonstration will only have a detrimental effect on the team and no effect at all on the owner.

  • And has to be done silently... Making noise wouldnt work as silence speaks louder than words

Just like any other game at The Valley then.
Reading this post reminded about when I was a kid and how terrified the family dog was of taking a bath
  • If you don't like what's happening don't come, vote with your feet, don't give the club your money. That's the langue most owners would understand .

I will sing SCP name tomorrow as I expect many others will, but if we win our next two/ three games it will be a case of " the king is dead long live the king". I honestly don't expect this to happen by the way.
I will come to the Valley as long as there is a club to support, I don't have to like the owner, and right now today I certainly do not
  • Our fans are patheticly clueless, this news doesn't just mean a new manager, it means RD is doing everything and anything he wants. Feels disgusting to say but we are now a nothing club who will bat around lower leagues for donkeys years.

He isnt getting any of my cash the sod.

Cancelled CAFC player this morning, glad I hadn't renewed my ticket yet.
  • Jesus. Why don't we get them on Jeremy Kyle to thrash out their differences. Lets get onto Burningefergies.com and get a load of RD ones to burn, or march at midnight with burning torches to the valley car park.
I'm truly gutted SCP has gone but I agree we need to make our voice heard in the stands by cheering on the boys as loud as possible. The players have often said the crowd make a difference, so lets start that tomorrow night.

WHAT IS OUR PRIORITY RIGHT NOW ? In my book it is avoiding relegation, and anything negative or destructive is not going to help us achieve that. You will get nowhere with your actions. We all need to stand together in support of the team and the people tasked with maintaining our Championship status. Managers come and go, however much we love them, if you feel angry write to the Club, but better to write to Chris in support of everything he has done for this Club. He will always be a legendary player, if you understand him as a man you will know that he will always want the best for our Club. Don't let yourselves down now, behave sensibly as Chris has done in the face of a very difficult situation. CHARLTON TILL I DIE.

Prior to kick off and at half time every fan should stand up and silently turn their backs on the pitch (i.e. so the players dont get any grief from us whilst its a kind of way to say we dont like what is happening on it)

And has to be done silently... Making noise wouldnt work as silence speaks louder than words

This .... need to pick a specific time

Why not save the protest for relegation and do two in one?

I will not be turning my back, I will not be chanting in support of Powell. I will be cheering on my team of 53 years, CHARLTON , and I will continue to do so no matter who the owner or Manager is.

    Is that alright with everybody?

I've heard RD will be attending the game Wednesday. This could be a huge opportunity for him to hear what we think. (for those attending the game).

A petition could be a option?

Singing Powell name for a extortionate amount of time?

    Not attending the game?

Absolutely pathetic, some of you need to move on and support the club. There is a reason why Powell got sacked. Lowest scorers in the league says it all. The football has been horrific to watch and not once this season have we won a game comfortably.

Take those blinkered glasses off and realise that if any other manager was in this situation they would have been gone months ago.

He's been sacked for refusing to be told how to pick his team or what players to recruit. Power to his elbow.

    I want my Charlton back.

Don't be ridiculous, we have a relegation battle on our hands and the players need your support!

I like it but unfortunately, the majority don't care about speaking up for the principle of the argument.

Too many have the opinion of, "what is the point" and "you lot are sad"!

I'm a strong believer that people should speak up and voice their opinions but in this case, the opinions of the sheep who can not be bothered will silence our cause... :/

What happened to our fans?! If it wasn't for the fans fighting for Charlton and the Valley, we wouldn't have got the ground back in the early 90's.

    What a bloody stupid idea.
Why is it a stupid idea??
    If you're a Standard man it's a bloody stupid idea, if you're a Charlton man it's not.
    Very well said!

I don't see a protest happening tomorrow evening, but there may be

    - Powell's name sang for most of the game
    - Fans getting behind the boys on the pitch
    - A few catcalls for Roland
    - A fracar in the Upper north. (Hope I'm wrong about this one)

Trouble is people are reading into this comment that I'm not supporting the players... I'm supporting the players and the club itself 100% because thats why I'll be turning up every week regardless of the eleven or the manager (and once I get a new job I'll be renewing my season ticket straight away).

Had I wanted the players to feel the wrath of our protest for example I wouldnt have said the above but I dont as they've done nothing wrong.

Basically the thread was created suggesting a protest... I came up with that idea simple... I dont want the fans to take the route of rioting / protesting "Sack the board" chants outside the West Stand because I dont want to see Charlton portrayed in that way

Pathetic, why not get behind the team and new manager, no one man is bigger than a club.

Regardless of my protest comment I actually disagree with this comment... I dont want the board out as I'm still interested to see where they take us

I just want them to stop and think before making stupid decisions the fans wont like
