Look at the moon tonight.....

Any idea what that is above it, not to sure if it's just a star, wife seems to think it could be Mars or could it be Venus? I know a few of you are keen on astrology so thought this would be the ideal place to ask.

I thought this thread was going to be a 'opening words to your best chat-up line' kinda thing.

Clever Mrs Hastings then, she thought it was but wasn't 100%.

Star Chart app is excellent for telling you what you're looking at in the sky. On a recent trip to Malta saw Jupiter, Mars and Saturn, the latter for the first time with the naked eye.

Let's hope it's shining bright tonight after we beat Barnsley.

So is Mars still going to be viewable tonight, with the naked eye ?

If it is I'll be too pissed to notice.

You'll be able to see Mars throughout the summer. It looks like a bright reddish star.
Follow the arc of the handle of the Plough, you'll come to a bright star, do the same distance again and it'll be there. It's towards the SE about 10ish.

Watched the. Space station fly over last night. Nothing spectacular about it but it does blow the mind a little when you consider the bigger picture

Yes, 21.01-21.07 from West to East. Directly overhead too.

Hmm, I'm getting into this as a new retirement hobby. Quite fascinating what goes on up there.
