    Absolute disgrace, why is it cool to carry a knife or be part of a gang? Just get educated and find a job, it's not easy I know but this is a horrible way of life.

    I was enjoying Wrighty on the beach, he's always full of passion and even though I've grown to dislike the England set-up he always keeps you interested and thinking maybe they can do something.

    he was a star for the Goonershit and Palarse i should hate Wrighty with a passion but its the opposite .He is a top bloke and a guy you feel you would love to have a beer and go to a match with.

    I'm not defending the actions of the low lives but, sadly, this is what happens in a society where some have excessive wealth, and presumably don't hide it, and others have very little.

    I'm far from a socialist, but I do understand the dilemmas that very poor people have when they see others (and a professional footballer come media personality is an ideal example) that have loads more than they have. I can understand why people ask the question "Why does (s)he deserve to have so much more than me?"

    Sadly, I think that as time goes on, we will hear of more and more of these type of incidents. I'm not saying that the likes of Lineker et al don't deserve the money they get paid, but they must realise that there are many people that are jealous of their wealth, and that they are targets.

    The organised gang that tied up Mark Fish and his wife, drove flashy cars and had designer clothing. One of the blokes went my school and was in my year, he was just a wrongen. He came from a middle class family as well. They are just opportunist scum.

    I doubt they knew or even cared that it was an ex-footballer's house. They just robbed a house in a well off area.

    If they were stealing to feed their starving kids then perhaps I could give them some sympathy but if so go and shoplift food from a supermarket.

    But they didn't. They choose to threaten women and children with knives.

    Sure some people are jealous of other peoples wealth and there are inequalities in the system that leave some poor and some rich but knife crime like this is not a redistribution of wealth or a blow for the revolution. It is just a nasty, greedy grab for what others have and the criminals want.

    I agree with most of that except that I suspect they knew who they were targeting. I mean, Wrighty is on the tele in Brazil - I think they knew it was his house. I agree that they don't care what he did for a living, now or in the past, but my best guess is that they knew who he was, and that he was away.

    Just for clarity, I have no sympathy with those that did this, I just don't find it staggeringly surprising, that is all!

    Yes, perhaps they knew the man of the house was away but I still doubt they cared who he was or how he'd made his money

    robbers do tend to target footballers and former footballers. Love wrighty, has such love and passion for the game and was top striker in his day.

    That short documentary about him Nothing to Something had me proper choked up. When he spoke about his dad and his stepdad and how he wouldn't let them watch match of the day and waiting for his dad because he needed a new pair of trousers. Still amazes and disgusts me how people can treat their kids.

    As if that wasn't bad enough, when his old school teacher turns up, who he thought was dead. I was in bits!

    Well worth watching if you can find it.
