Probably took the cash to his local western union and sent it back to his luxury home in nigeriaAddick Addict said:
No - but has a £50K car. Probably easier to buy that for cash than a house.eaststandmike said:

I've always wondered why players take their shirts off when they score when they know, for a fact, that it will earn them a yellow card.Addickted4life said:This is really sad, I liked both Sodje's alot. I'll never forget this, I enjoyed this goal so much:

I had a very tasty win on Sam once for scoring the first goal, am I going to be arrested ?0

The big shame is that a lot of cards/sending offs for silly tackles, dissent etc are going to be questioned.0

You weren't until you just drew attention to yourself. I suspect that by tea time you will have had all your assets seized and you will be living in a one room apartment with one window with bars on it!Granpa said:I had a very tasty win on Sam once for scoring the first goal, am I going to be arrested ?

Somewhat surprised that nobody has cast their minds back to another early red card in recent years. Now, i'm not accusing anybody of anything, but it would be nice if our old friend Djimi Traore reassured us about his debut at Upton Park (and his red card arguably cost us loads - millions - more than any of Sodje's)
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/4786591.stm
The BBC report doesn't make good reading:
"Traore picked up an unnecessary booking for hacking Bowyer"
" after conceding a foul for a clumsy challenge - the hapless Traore stuck out a foot to stop Bowyer's attempted free-kick and found himself red-carded just 26 minutes into his Charlton debut."
(Dowie): "The sending-off was a stupid challenge after he'd already been booked but the first booking was wrong"
To reiterate, there's no reason to believe our man was anything other than an honest - if 'stupid' - trier. But if i were him I'd avoid doing anything like this again....1 -

I thought this was going to be another potential managers name thrown into the frame.....
Really did think the world was beyond bonkers.2 -
I knew he was innocent...0

Thought the same.AFKABartram said:might have been before he was involved in all this, but always thought Sam's early sending off in that Swindon home game was potentially dodgy
a crazy two footed tackle.
Then Deon burton did a crazy hand ball when he was all ready on a yellow card ?
some how got a 2-2 draw with 9 men for 45 mins.

There's some great and in no way unbiased coverage in this Nigerian newspaper: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/10/sam-sodje-soaring-higher-amid-sports-journalist-mazher-mahmoods-hateful-set-up/0 -
Sorry Sam, you're already in the Bad Boys XI, you can't be in it again.SheffieldRed said:

Interesting headline in the original post from The Sun. Part of me wonders if they chose a certain word to be very evocative.0

Woooooah, that's a bit near the mark even by my standards, and that's saying something0

Well it's a possibility you couldn't rule out unfortunately.0

See, this is why I never respond to those emails from Nigerians requesting my account number and sort code0
