The solution might be to move Charlton Athletic to Belgium or Israel.

Anybody seen that documentary series UK Border force or something? In that, teams of people swoop on moody weddings and also takeaway businesses and nick people working without a permit?

The icing on top of a very tall and large cake. They should make a documentary of this farce.

Of course it couldn't possibly be the Home Office who are at fault.

It's a farce regardless of whose fault it is.

Is it totally inconceivable that Luzon's work permit will be refused (or am I clutching at straws again?)
  • Hahahahahaha we are an absolute farce! How can ANYONE continue to defend our ownership? I suppose if his work permit does get rejected we've got 19 other candidates who we could bring in though. Not even embarrassed by this, should've seen it coming

I cant see what all the fuss is about but I suppose it makes all the RD haters & doom mongers pleased. In reality Luzon has seen the players train & even if he doesn't pick the side I imagine he's had a big say into who starts etc and sitting in the stands will probably help anyway.

I recall that CP's sitting in the stand at Chef Wendy before taking over.............but hey, that wasn't a story was it

If he didn't have a permit to work, and worked, it looks as if he broke the law, even if the delay was the fault of the Home Office.

Unless she's a specialist immigration lawyer then I expect she would have.

    No.

Because he's a British citizen and doesn't need a work permit to "work".

GL HAS been working without one though. There are videos and official club communications talking about it.

Could it be that he's buggered off after three days and the work permit thing is just a ploy. Now wouldn't that be funny.

    LOL

I don't care who's at fault, after the last week at CAFC this is the cherry on top of the icing on the cake.

If this were a Premiership club it would have been sorted in hours but we are not big enough for the Home Office to sort their shit out

Pretty sure the paperwork would be handled by a couple of seasoned veterans at the club and by going on about this we could well be putting them out of a job

Of course it couldn't possibly be the Home Office who are at fault.

The club should've stated that his participation at tomorrow's game was pending a work permit being issued in time.

To categorically state that he was going to be in charge at Watford when this situation was a possibility (however remote they thought it was) wasn't very bright.
