The most positive feature from today is that it seems the players put in a shift. I hope it was more because of Guy Luzon than simply for the money, or because of the shame some of them tweeted about last week.

Good result considering. Three out of the next four games are at home and this spell will decide if we are in for a relegation battle.
I would take five points now if it was offered.

How was Luzon's persona on the sideline today?

In context it was a decent performance, although we need to factor in that Wolves are not Watford. Maybe they were more of a factor last week too?

Thought we looked a bit fragile first half, giving the ball away in midfield and no threat, as well as very vulnerable through the left side of defence. However, we were a lot more solid second half and started to create until the forwards tired and were replaced. Keeper did fine, although he wasn't really tested.

I think it would have remained 0-0 if we'd played for another 90 minutes. But if we can keep the other side out it's a start!
  • Predicted a 4-0 defeat, delighted with a point, need to build on this, get back to clean sheets, scoring goals and winning matches, must add some quality to the squad this week please Roland.
  • Totally overwhelmed by a 0-0 draw.

Well played Morgan Fox, Dmitrovic and Veljikovic on stepping up to the plate and displaying great maturity and endeavour. From the radio commentary, it sounded like the 3 all had good games.

No doubt someone who was there will tell me MF was rubbish but I am not going to believe you so there!

2 of those 3 games are against teams in or around the top 6 and who regularly score and the 1 away game is against a team who are in the top 2 and have just beaten Man City away.........the big game is next week against Rotherham. We really need to win that one,

Glad to see the Charlton players recover some professional pride.

Never thought I would be so pleased to see a Charlton 0-0 draw. In the context of Wolves being top of the form table and Charlton bottom, the draw is a good result.

Still 3 games with no goals (4 championship games not including the FA Cup free kick) and 10 Championship games without a victory.

Lets hope the Katrien Meire reported tweets about transfer activity within the week comes true. I am hoping (IF) that the player(s) arriving are quality ones addressing the weakness in the team. The Rotherham game is a crucial game next week.

As usual, reliant on Tel and Pete's commentary for a feel of the game.

Feared the worst pre game, didn't like the team selection or the general atmosphere around the club ths week.

Glad to be proven somewhat wrong.

Pros: Rot stopped - that's a big thing for us right now. Also a return to hardworking and organised defence - we'd all like to be more expressive in attack but at the very least we need to start doing again the things that were winning us points before December.

Cons: Still didn't create a huge amount of clear chances and still got the impression we could have played all night and probably not scored, although the positive is it sounded like the midfield were making more effort to support Igor, perhaps liberated a bit by the new loan signing's anchoring presence. All that aside, we must find a way, be it signings or tactical tweaks, of creating more in attack because we can't draw nil-nil every week.

Overall I feel better now than a couple of hours ago. Too early to declare Luzon as this season's messiah, but at the very least we have something to cling onto and I didn't really feel that way pre-kickoff.

Well done lads, keep it up.

Trouble is how many times do you see a team stuffed 5-0 one week and then suffer another 4-0 / 5-0 defeat again the following week

    It dont happen very often!!

I predicted we'd get stuffed and I don't feel stupid. Anyone who saw last week's performance would have had to be very optimistic to predict anything else.
Very happy to be wrong of course, though I doubt that will head off the inevitable 'you moaners must be gutted that we didn't lose' type comments.
    Saved me responding.
  • Sounded like a fantastic improvement from Guys first game in charge last week, as i mentioned in the other thread, a 5 goal tally difference between his first and second game in charge, hopefully we can look forward to a continue of the momentum and put 5 past Rotherham next Saturday at the Valley...............i can dream :)

19 - 0-0 draws, though unlikely, might be enough to stay up
  • After last week, a point and a clean sheet is a relief. Something to build on, hopefully

I thought we'd lose today. Sounded like we caused them a few problems which is good to hear.

A point is a decent result

I agree with all you've written.
  • Any of the guys there, how was 'geeey' on the touchline. Did he have an aura of authority? Did the players seem to respond to him?

By God, I love Charlton so much. I can't ever remember being so pleased with a 0-0.

What a relief after the last couple of weeks we've had.

A much better result than most of us feared. Will await the views of all who were there with interest. Pleased for them all not to have to sit through another drubbing.

They might not be as free scoring as Watford but Wolves have definitely found some form. Unbeaten in the last nine matches (if, like Mourinho, you don't count penalty shootout) they have only let in two goals in their last seven League matches and that run includes wins against Watford and Brentford.

Equally, as you say, something to build on but the result doesn't hide the fact that Watford have scored as many in their last two matches as we have in the 18 games since September. And that is where the new manager has to improve things either through a change in approach, especially at home, or by getting more out of the resources available to him.

The Football League Show will struggle to find 30 seconds of highlights.

Yes, a better result, but still down another place.

But a point further away from 22nd, the position that matters.

A 'nothing' kind of first half, which rather suited us as the away team and one very low on confidence, trying to get a foothold in the game. We created nothing, but neither did they, although they troubled us a bit down our left hand side, with Wolves' big lanky full back looking to overlap at every opportunity.

The concern was that they'd come out strongly on the second half and put us under the cosh. In the event, that never happened and Harriott had a decent run and shot early in the second half which seemed to give us a little more belief. We played some decent stuff, without looking too threatening and Watt definitely gave us some additional 'edge' and desire when he came on.

I don't recall Wolves having a meaningful strike on goal but the young goalie did well on his debut and looked confident. Veljkovic was tidy and did pretty well, although I think he understandably tired and Luzon brought Gomez near the end and on pushed Solly into midfield.

Overall, a very good result and a thoroughly deserved point. The clean sheet is very important after shipping so many goals and, whilst this was a flat and below par Wolves performance, credit to our defence, especially Tal Ben Haim and the tigerish Chris Solly. Jordan Cousins also put in a typically energetic performance, covering a lot of ground and breaking up a lot of Wolves attacks. Not an elegant player, but a very important one for us.

Something to build on then and a most acceptable trip - topped off by some very nice beer in the 'Great Western' pub. Let's hope we can put Rotherham to the sword next week and we can at least stop fretting about the bottom of the table.

One last point - a very good view today on the halfway today in the Steve Bull Stand lower tier. Much better than rattling around behind the goal.

Decent result and sounds like we could have won it. Let's hope this stops the rot and we build on it with victory against Rotherham.

Couldn't agree more Callum. It's important to stop the rot and after last week's result I feared total disharmony in that squad. From what people have said so far they fought hard, and as fans that's all we ask.

Going to be a tough run in now but hopefully we can regroup like we did when Riga came in.

RD please back the club in the last week of the window and give us a chance of getting through this season. This has been a horrible 2 weeks and I hope GL can start to bring a bit of stability to it all now
