The cynic in me says Aus will squeeze a win here to give us all a 5th test showdown, I think Voges being replaced by Marsh is wise from Aus and we're missing a trick not doing similar with Lyth.. I don't think hes capable of big scores required. (Come back to bite me in the ass hopefully)

Well it's definitely not going to be an England win, that would be too easy. Just a case of deciding who needs the win at the Oval.
  • As much as i would like us to win the Ashes at this test, at least an Aus win would make the last test more exciting

Really looking forward to today. You can be sure the Aussie's will fight back today. I'm assuming if they win the toss they'll bat first and try and get some runs on the board and put the pressure on the England bowling attack missing Anderson.

The weather forecast looks fair set, bit overcast maybe so could be something for the bowlers early on. Just hope the pitch is more of an Edgbaston-style strip, given us a test between bat and ball rather than the awful pitch we had at Lords.

Simon Hughes jut put a picture of the pitch on twitter, looks a green top, with the cloud around I think fielding first will not be a bad thing, Jimmy would have loved it.

I'm not actually sure my heart could put up with 5 days of stress like that!

Cook won the toss and wants to have a bowl, muggy, overcast and pitch is green and soft, let's make this count......

England WIN the toss and BOWL first
  • Need early wickets, forecast to be warm and sunny later I think so batting conditions will probably improve throughout the day.

Clarke gets lucky from his first ball...could be a big moment for him... captains innings needed for sure.
