Went to to a LA Dodgers game last night and got some ideas for KM:

    - Get three fans and on the pitch, they choose a coloured hotdog in a car and whoever gets the loudest cheers wins the race on screen and a pair of shoes

    - Get a fan to guess what a player is drawing on the big screen and win a hat

    - Get a fan to name as many pizza toppings as you can. If you beat the player's attempt you win beer

    - Get a fan to guess the nominated player's favourite cartoon character to win a lounge pass

Great one off event and decent atmosphere but the whole "fan experience" thing was horrible.

Also, one of the interim inning questions was "What year was 'Glad All Over' released?" And they played it for two minutes. Threw my foam hand in disgust.

Was there any, hold on I've forgotton what it's called, wait it will come back to me in a minute, ah, sport. I think that's why people used to go to stadia.

Like all "quality" sofas it will have an official fire certificate. ;)

Should put a camera on the people sat on the sofa and record them like they do on goggle box. I'm sure that would make better entertainment

So it all gets sorted just before KO then ?

That's a shame, I'd need a couple of days to get my props organised.

I was offered the chance to sit on there after a twitter competition, somehow I never made it onto the hallowed leather.
    Leather?
It's leather? Feck that, alienating the veggies and vegans and animal lovers now, even though we're not expected to eat the sofa.
Maybe the cheerleaders could eat it?

With ambitious plans to eventually have a 40000 capacity, a sofa seating three is a step in the right direction.
  • I was wondering if the sofa had one of those built in back massager thingy, but I guess we'll never know......

No, not sorted, but there is a sort of script for people to follow. There always is when filming. Make sure you are sitting in West lower, probably near the North West, or, on other side of North West in North lower. And catch BDL's eye at the right moment.

If we can solve better zooming of cameras at a reasonable price it might all change and bring in other parts of the ground.
For a second I had the weird mental image of BDL taking his glass eye out and lobbing it into the crowd for people to catch. That would be even stranger than having a sofa in the corner of the ground.
  • Perhaps they could have different seating arrangements in each corner. Some bar stools in one corner, deckchairs in another and, maybe, bunk beds in another.

Seeing a human sized cigarette watching a bunch of cheerleaders on a football pitch was way too much brain power for my hangover this morning.

Next time, they'll dress someone up as a pink elephant for you.
But theres always been a Pink Elephant there, hasnt there? well ive often seen one..

How do you get picked? Can't believe it is at random as all very 'safe' choices so far.

Is it a bit of a 'who you know' carve up?

I've asked for it to be relocated to the Director's Box.

You lot won't be laughing when, after my request is met, you see me sitting in luxury, with the best view in the house and sipping champagne with the lovely Katrien. I've told the wife there won't be enough room for her too....... unless of course........no that really would be too much to ask wouldn't it?

I really don't see what the problem with the sofa is.

As far as I'm concerned, it's So fa, so bloody silly. If they produce a bed next, I'm off.

  • I think we should have sofas in the stands.... at least if we want a kip.

Anyone have problems with sofa's at the cricket? The even had beds at some games. Still don't see why it is sooooooooo embarrasing for some people.

And just as I type this a DFS ad pops up!
  • Who would actually want to sit on it though?

Who would actually want to sit on it though?

Somebody who is hoping that it's a more comfortable seat and that it will give a closer, if perhaps not all encompassing, view of the game.

And someone who doesn't want to let his son down by telling him that his reward for being picked out from the crowd is something to be derided.

I think it keeps us in touch with our roots, after all you often see sofas on the side of the Thamesmead Spine Road when travelling to the Valley. Maybe they'll put a covered market in the opposite corner of the pitch next.

    What happens if it rains?

I've been informed that, should bad weather be forecast, then the selected individuals will get another opportunity later in the season.
