His turn as the Sherriff of Nottingham was absolutely brilliant, he walked away with the Robin Hood film.

A brilliant movie villain but the fact that the first thing my wife will say is that she loved him in Love Actually shows what a great actor he was. He could excel in any number or roles and genre. Rest in peace.1

His "Sun Aint Gonna Shine Anymore" from Truly Madly Deeply is one of my favourite ever TV scenes. R.I.P.2

And 69 used to be one of my favourite numbers! Very sad. If this news had come a few weeks ago, would have had to cancel Christmas.0

Very shocked. Another cool dude departs. RIP. Saw him in person at Glasgow Film Festival last year and he was fantastic - very self - effacing.1

Always new how to deliver a line. A safe pair of hands whatever the role. Must have been a directors favourite. Sad loss of a great man. RIP0

Intense, expressive, compelling, unmissable, original and versatile. Up there with the very, very best. RIP Mr Rickman.0

I must admit I had to Google him to work out who he was. Even then I needed to be reminded he was in Harry Potter. I've never watched it so not overly familiar with the actor.
69 is no age at all. RIP0 -
