Get him signed today or tomorrow so we can start him instead of Johnson on Saturday!!3
-
They never, ever, ever learn.
Does bringing in this geezer mean that we have to get rid of Watt or Lookman?
Bloody joke.4 -
So that gives us Bauer, Sarr, Lennon, Johnson, Williams, Diarra and Teixera.
Shows the insanity of chucking a long contract at Johnson. Assume Williams won't be renewed after the month (I'd send him back now).

Shame that Bauer is out injured else I'd suggest sending Sarr to Gillingham on loan4
-
well Bauer is out a few more weeks at least, Diarra out a while. Send Williams back. Leaves Textiera, Lennon, Saar and Johnson fit at the moment. Once the first two are back we can loan out a couple, if anyone will take Johnson that is. What an incredibly daft deal that was/is.Clem_Snide said:So that gives us Bauer, Sarr, Lennon, Johnson, Williams, Diarra and Teixera.

Agents aren't thick. They'll have heard from contacts that Johnson got 18 months, Sarr got 18 years, and Meire is easy pickings. In this case the player gets additional long-term security and the agent a nice bonus. We're a joke.flyingkiwiDK said:
Probably the only way we could get him to sign on the dotted line though unfortunately.ForeverAddickted said:http://nycfcwatch.sportsblog.com/posts/10930768/nycfc-target-jorge-teixeira-to-sign-with-charlton-athletic.html
Apparently we've beaten New York City and Flamengo (Brazil) to his signature... Will be a 3.5 year Contract, they dont seem to learn with Contract lengths especially as he'll be around 33 when that ends8 -

If he's Riga's man then I'm happy10

Sounds, from a little bit of research, that Jorge Teixeira has been one of Standard Liege's key men this season. #cafc

But is he really the best out there for a Championship centre half? I highly doubt it.1 -
Well done Riga if true.2

Bauer has just tweeted that he needs groin surgery and the operation is tomorrow. Guess that means he will be out for 6 - 8 weeks... More details on this thread: http://forum.charltonlife.com/discussion/71150/bauer-to-undergo-surgery#latestLargeAddick said:

We can't afford the best out there (and whoever it is wouldn't want to sign for us anyway!)0 -

Who knows, but he is what we've got. Better cross our fingers he is a step up. Surely he can't be any worse?0 -
Sounds a good signing. Welcome sir.0

If he is fit and ready to go, unlike many of our new signings, that means he will get injured soon after he joins, at least that is how it seems this season. I would say three of our best signings Bauer, Kashi and Diarra all long time injuriesForeverAddickted said:http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jorge-teixeira/profil/spieler/59791
Has only missed four matches for Standard Liege this season as well0 -
Jury's out for me, but welcome Jorge I hope you are the player to shore up our leaky defence2
-
They've just finished their mid-season break I think so he should be full of beans and ready to jump straight in.ross1 said:

We are staying up say we are staying up.9

Interesting that his farewell message was written in English. Decent English too2

I know there's no love lost between the clubs but surely that's a bit extreme!ForeverAddickted said:Shame that Bauer is out injured else I'd suggest sending Sarr to Gillingham on loan

The last time we signed a Portuguese defender called Jorge in January worked out pretty well

Sounds like more of a Buyens or Bulot signing if he has been a regular at Liege, so should be good enough for our level.
I just hope this is squad building and we are not shoving Watt, Lookman or anyone else important out the door to fund it.5 -
Indeed. Best to reserve judgement until we've seen him. It's encouraging that the fans at his former club rate him. It's unusual for us to get a player that has been a first team regular at a club, they are usually out of contract or out of favour.Redmidland said:Jury's out for me, but welcome Jorge I hope you are the player to shore up our leaky defence

Texiera, Whooa, Texiera, whoa, he comes from Portugal etc...hopefully a championship/league one worthy Jorge Costa.0
