I doubt that can be written into a contract of employment!ElfsborgAddick said:
She'll report back to squirrel face and Meire will say "f*** them".Missed It said:Fair play to her. She needs to hear what's what. Whether it'll do her any good when she gets back to the Valley is another question. She is Ms Meire's hire to control a comms team that she doesn't value or trust. It would be 'interesting' to see what happens if Ms Baroni goes native!

Sorry to pick up on this bit @Todays_Specials, but I'm not sure why you think you don't have the right to post very often?Todays_Specials said:...I’ve only been a Charlton fan for 15 years and stopped being a season ticket holder when my kids were born, so haven’t really earned the right to post very often...
As far as I know, the only people who don't have that right are people who have been banned by the moderators.
I'm not, for want of a better phrase, a 'senior' lifer by any means, but I feel comfortable enough to say this to you:
Post as often as you like. Discuss football. Discuss the regime. Discuss politics. Discuss other stuff like cricket, baseball, snooker, trains
, music, films, celebrities. Talk about someone famous who's just died. Tell jokes. Rate footballers. Rate racks. Post stats. Post pictures. Post amusing gifs. Argue. Vent your spleen. Talk sense. Talk shit. (That's the one most people do
)
We're just a bunch of people with a shared interest having a bit of a chat. Post whenever you like.

We're pleased to say that we can add another guest to the evening.
We asked Club Secretary Chris Parkes to come to the meeting some time ago and today he was able to confirm.
A life long fan who has been employed by the club for over 25 years Chris is the man who literally signs the players.
Should be an even better night.
@wss @afkabartram @lookout can you update the title2 -
Is Sue coming too? I like her gumption.

Chris's missus throwing her G&T over that mouthy fella at the front was different.0

I know Comms people like to 'control the message' and pre-determine outcomes, but a week in advance is stretching it a bit mateCardinal Sin said:So what happened then?

Is this the same Mel Baroni who is a senior account manager at M&C Saatchi sports and entertainment?. Sounds like we have outsourced our communications to a firm that really doesn't give to hoots other than to take the money?0

Tonight's the night
Thanks for the sticky Admin bods0 -
I'm confuse, yes easily done, is it a double act with Mel & Chris or a Chris solo?0

Outsourcing is precisely the route Nightmeire likes to go. It fits her perception of how to run a 'modern business' .Scratchingvalleycat said:Is this the same Mel Baroni who is a senior account manager at M&C Saatchi sports and entertainment?. This extends also the the first team. You could argue that bringing in loads of Belgian loan players was a perverted form of outsourcing. That it was done at the outset with no reference to the manager only confirms how dangerous this regime is. It is off-the=scale in terms of maverick ownership with the double-whammy of a clearly delusional and one would think totally isolated CEO blinded by her arrogance to the many areas of collapse around her.
I can't see how the HOC lady can find any way to spin a defense of her unstable employers.2 -

I will be in Bromley this evening. Havat restaurant then Churchill theatre.
If I were there I would ask Mel and Chris if they're aware of upcoming protests, especially for the Boro game, and whether the club think the protests are simply about results on the pitch.
I would ask Mel what she knows about a home match against Huddersfield in the late fifties. (If you're reading this Mel, then you can research it, and find out where the Miller Hospital was located...there's a challenge for you).
I would also ask Mel if she realises some support is not on the internet, or has Facebook or Twitter.2 -
Can't be a Charlton employee if you don't know where a long closed Greenwich hospital was?seth plum said:I will be in Bromley this evening. Havat restaurant then Churchill theatre.

I don't expect her to know. It is the approach to answering that interests me more.Henry Irving said:

Mel Baroni has spent four years in Account Management at M&C Saatchi, a creative agency. That's the total of her experience. Not far off my own experience.
Account Managers at Creative Agencies act as a buffer between the client and the creative team. They basically keep the client happy, translate their feedback to the creatives. They also handle the timelines and make sure everybody's on track and that people have the resources they need.
They are usually very likeable people who are very good at quickly creating relationships and bonds with people in person. They're also very good at handling difficult people and don't ruffle easily.
They are never involved in communication strategy, which is the job of Senior Planners.
They are never involved in the process of creating ideas, other than occasionally presenting the ideas to the client, or reading out the brief to creatives.
It's also worth noting that she was not the Account Director and as such would still have been taking very clear direction on what she did do.
None of her professional experience is suitable for this role.
Under this regime that sounds perfectly familiar.

Yes, it may simply be a matter of semantics but her Linked-in profile (today) states the following:LargeAddick said:

Senior Account Manager
M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment
October 2014 – Present (1 year 5 months)
Day-to-day management of Reebok Global, Reebok UK and O2. Previous clients have included The FA, US Olympic Committee, NatWest and Powerade.
There is no actual mention of Charlton!
All the evidence therefore points to a Consultant appointment doesn't it? That's still effectively outsourcing or am I missing something. And isn't it odd that a PR type person would not update her profile page?
The mystery sickens.

Well, if she is used to acting as a buffer, it will please our trainspotting side....Chunes said:Mel Baroni has spent four years in Account Management at M&C Saatchi, a creative agency. That's the total of her experience. Not far off my own experience.

Whatever her provenance, Katrien said in November that she would start in February 1st. Katrien was prepared to wait for her arrival for a lot of months, and a hell of a lot of the season.
In the meantime there was a mercenary from the premier league I believe doing some kind of stuff.
If Mel Baroni is inconsequential hardly seems worth announcing her impending arrival, and hardly seems worth waiting so long either.0 -
