Diarra was awesome both halves, the rest were only great on account that they had a better second half than than a first...as a team they should be looking around the dressing room and the players sitting there with them every week and thinking 'we're a fucking great team, we will win'6

There's plenty of fight left in this side. I thought Motta and Tex were superb. Lookman must start on Tuesday, if he tires sub him.2

Didnt think he was much different to Harriott today to be honest... Felt he was really lightweight stuck out on the left and was really surprised that it wasnt Harriott who went out wide when the substitution was made, also showed a bit of youthful inexperience by shooting when he could have handed Vetokele a tap in.StewieGriffinSE7 said:Enjoyed that. Regardless though I'd have put my house on him putting away the clear shot on goal that Harriott skied so with having both him and Harriott I dont think its bad having one as an option from the bench, its just a case of ensuring that we don't use that player too late like we did against MK Dons.1 -

Thankfully it was the one thing that the referee didn't fall for because (1) he didnt call for a physio (2) the sub goalie didnt warm up so... Why didnt you book him?7 -

Really couldnt understand the JBG sub as felt he was controlling the pitch today.
I guess the issue was that Riga couldnt take off Cousins or Diarra because Birmingham were still very dangerous on the attack...
I'd maybe have taken off Harriott instead because Jackson almost took that position.3 -

Because he played half a game and a full 90 mins for Iceland...knackered probably. Got the winner with him off. So no problem with that decision.14

First game I've been able to go to, due to work commitments, since JBG scored in the 98th minute against Hull. I went equally as ballistic today when Tex got the winner (also helped by having a tenner on him as anytime goalscorer at 17/2)2

Their keeper started getting arsey after the collision with Igor, when he seemed to have a falling out with his own players, as he then took ages for the next goal kick. This continued with the crowd winding him up, and basically he was gone in his head space. We didn't kind of start it, the keeper lost it on his own and was then looking for excuses and suchlike, he undermined himself to my mind.
Anyway, we came from a goal down and did the double, both events are a kind of weird meaning unique.
I thought Birmingham were pretty well organised, and we tried to be a bit inventive, and we probably just deserved to win by a margin of 51 to 49.
I don't know why they took Fabrini off who was trouble, and I watched Caddis a lot, the Blues fans must love him because nobody in their team tried like that guy did, respect. On the other hand Cotteril for them was a bit of a damp squib.
Outdoing Caddis for sheer 'love the bloke' stuff was Jordan Cousins, easily our best player closely followed by Diarra, who played on memory for the last 15 minutes.
First half goals were both aided by deflections, and Tex then repeated his Boro trick, and we won irony of ironies, from a corner...mind you at that stage a winning goal for us was coming I thought.
Our back line did pretty well, even if there were framed cock up's from Fox and Motta, but their general play was good, and Fanni was wholehearted. Up front Igor and Callum were much of a muchness, but their darting wriggling style was more effective against the Brum defence than playing a big target man.
JBG got his goal, played his usual game, and Suk Young had an indifferent performance. Generally we were brave enough with our attempted flicks and one-twos, Birmingham were more conventional, not the best not the worst, realistically the game might have gone either way but didn't.
The protest was great, as indeed were the Birmingham fans, both chatting before the game and in their support. Our great advantage was we were better than expected which suprised many, certainly suprised me, and I think their team and their fans didn't expect us to be anything much.
We have to get rid of this regime, simply have to, because football matches ought to be like today without all the problems around them, and games and results like today have been very few this season..26 -

It sounded like JBG was controlling the game, but between him being booked, him playing 90 minutes for Iceland on Tuesday, and the fact that he must be around the 45 game mark for the season, I can at least understand why he might need to be taken off.
I'm not just saying this because he liked two of my tweets, but Tex seems like a top man. Noticed he was tweeting during the Standard cup final a couple weeks back. Seems to really care about the team and interact with supporters. Really hope he's around for a good few years, seems a good player and a nice bloke.4 -

Great to get a win, especially as I know several blue noses and pleased to see there is still some fight in the team.
When everyone is fit we are a decent team. Riga is definitely seems to be slowly improving the team both tactically and in terms of spirit so credit there. The combination of injuries and unwillingness to sign reinforcements early in the season has really cost us. Throw in the ludicrous period Freaye was in charge and it's clear to see why we are where we are. Now we actually have a bit of depth to the squad we've been able weather a few injuries and put together something approaching a run of results.
Trouble is it is probably coming too late and none of our rivals are dropping enough points. It's the hope that kills you though.

Brilliant day. Played very well. Protest was brilliant.
Never experienced anyone easier to wind up than Thomas Kuszczak. The clapping when we kept the ball was funny but then him giving a "bras d'honneur" in reply to " Kuszczak, Kuszczak whats the score?" topped off the day.
