Holmes played for Chelmsford years ago in the Ryman league. He was much better than anyone else by a long way.
For a couple of years the standard headline in the local rag was Holmes to sign for City/United/Town.
When he was 21 he 'retired' only to join Barnet a week later. A very odd way to transfer.0 -

Honestly mate he was a joy to watch last year.
