As far as promotion is concerned we haven't got a prayer now

Shall we wait until the transfer window closes ?

Under this ownership I fear Pope will only return to perform a requiem for the club.

Best of luck to him. Could've been our best keeper since Deano if we weren't a shambles.

Sorry what? I'm annoyed he's gone and obviously annoyed by the manner at which he's left but best keeper since Deano? Are we talking about the same keeper who continually spilt free kicks and used to chuck them in for fun?!
Bury fans rate him as highly.

Gutted he has gone, but he deserves better than us under this shambles.

Highly talented goalkeeper who couldn't really continue to flourish with a regime who would be happy to change a back four every month with new unfit additions.

    All the best Nicky.

I reckon he could be England's first choice keeper in say 2 years.

    Can't be worse than Hart.

Wish you well for the future, Nick

You deserve far better than could be offered here under the current idiots.

I'm sorry to learn of Nick Pope's departure. I reckon he's very good goalkeeper (and had more to offer than we have seen thus far). Thanks, Ro-land. Better make that call to Thuram.

Well, with the new season fast approaching, we seem very short in key areas. Where have I seen that before from leadership who said they have learned from their mistakes? I'm not surprised though.

Not sure I agree. Goalie is not a key area IMO.

Goalkeeper is a key area. Coaches always talk about the spine of the team. Our spine, with all the injuries, is very weak.

This. GK, CB, CM and CF are they key areas. (Spine of the team)

Its the biggest area on the pitch... As you'd see with Curbishley's squads... When building a team begin from the back, working on stopping goals going in before you concentrate on scoring them yourselves

It is if Thuram has his (non stick)gloves on!

That explains the white smoke seen at Sparrows lane yesterday.

Mitov will realize that when he gets a game because of Hendo's numerous injuries, you can't get away with the mistakes you make when playing for the U21's.

Good luck Nick Pope, You have followed in the footsteps Of Hamer and Elliott by Trebling your wages and being a bench warmer.
Having England's number 3 keeper Heaton signing a new 4 year contact isn't great for your game time but at least you may get to play 4 or 5 League cup and FA cup matches a season over the next four years.

To be fair I'd be surprised if Heaton doesnt leave for somewhere like Southampton or West Ham regardless if Burnley survive next season (Because Heaton will be required A LOT)... Because of that they'll probably get another Goalkeeper who is experienced at either the Premier League or Championship meaning Pope really will have to wait his time.

A very similar move to that of Rob Elliot, Pope will get his chance but will have to wait a long time for it

This was always going to be the case though so its hardly news. No way is Pope a Prem standard goal keeper, its all about the money and the experience of playing in the top flight.

Regardless of whether he is on the bench or not, he will be earning double or triple his current wage and he won't have to worry about flares flying past his head at his circus of a former employer. No-brainer really.....

Randolph and Elliot got a large amount of playing time last year despite being back-ups as well.

Randolph also Ireland's number one at the Euros.

I'd love to treble my wages and do less work . I reality, it's probably far more that treble in Pope's case
