We've had players give it back before, but none like Roger {sniff} Johnson.

He epitomises everything that is currently wrong with Charlton.

Over 1000 fans make the long trek, spending hundreds of pounds to see the team in the third tier and this tool does that? I'm just gobsmacked.

    He's got to go.

I guess we'll see this week how much real influence Russ has over team affairs, minimum should be an apology from the club and a fine, I think he's crossed the line with the fans after our first match and he's an unwelcome distraction to the teams wellbeing, get him out on loan to a network club , Hungary should do , he can swear all he likes and no one will understand him!

If the club do nothing they will create more animosity if it's possible between the fans, and send out a message to the younger players at the club that this kind of behaviour is acceptable, the club must act.

Agree with this however if not already made, the club needs to receive a formal complaint before it considers taking action surely. If they want to act, they won't do it on hearsay.

What Johnson seems to have overlooked is that many fans travelled hundreds of miles and spent a large sum of their own money to support him and the rest of the team. To abuse them is unforgivable.
No doubt Meire will give him a bonus.

The club must have at least heard the POTY sniff sniff story/allegation/rumour

They decided to re-hire him. Surely they would have at least said a few things to him, asked a few questions about that.

Anyone else does that at their work place they are sacked on the spot and considered a very unprofessional piece ah crap. Let alone a professional football club

I get a strange feeling Rojo and Meire are close or more friendly. Probably bollocks though. Hopefully bollocks.
This would be brilliant if true. Mind you, it never did Karen Brady's reputation any harm when she was knobbing peschosolido.
Knobbing? They've been married over 20 years
True, but not when they were at Birmingham together.

You're all reckoning without taking into account that Roger Johnson clearly has the best agent in football.
By the time the agent has finished making his case, WSS will have to write 1000 lines and send Johnson a bouquet by way of an apology for giving him a dirty look.

Did some of our fans send The Liar flowers a couple of seasons ago?
  • Saw it happen but couldn't hear what was said. Agree, though, that this is now when we'll see what measure of control RS has over the team.

Woken up with a banging headache, a large hole in my bank balance and my opinion hasn't changed.

What he said/did is unforgivable. I might be wrong but I'm sure Morgan Fox heard him and gave him a pretty withering look.

I'd heard no real abuse of the team up to that point and in an instant the crowd turned nasty.

Slade has talked about wanting leaders and running a tight ship on the discipline front - well now is the time for him to show both his leadership and assert his authority.

At the very least Johnson should be forced to apologise - he won't and I hope he gets pelters at Cheltenham and at home to Northampton.

Well we know how easily and quickly KM adopts the "I'm the victim" stance, I reckon she will be saying " oh look, they can give it out to a woman, but can't take it when a man turns round and dishes a bit back at them."
I reckon she will be mightily pleased at Roger Rabbit's little outburst, and the fury it has caused.
Which is, of course, to miss the point entirely. Which is that Rog should keep his trap shut, especially after the big promises of a New Dawn from this lot.
Maybe KM does disapprove of his outburst. But it's not as though she rates Charlton fans anyway is it, she said pretty much the same thing about fans accepting that Roland does it his way.
It is pretty much the same message.

He snorted it out of KM's arsecrack in front of everyone at the POTY dinner

    Allegedly
  • I'm seriously considering breaking my ban of non Charlton attendance by coming along to just give Rojo some grief.

Can't make up my mind which song to sing though...

    He's stealing a wage,
    He's stealing a wage,
    Roger Johnson,
    He's stealing a wage.

    Or

    Get out of our club,
    Get out of our club,
    Roger Johnson,
    Get out of our club.

So you give him shit on a bad day at the office he responds and we have nine pages calling for I'm to be sacked.

If someone went to your place slagged you off constantly for two hours and nearing the end you got close enough to tell em to jog on you would.

He may be shit he may be a tosser but this is making something out of what I consider to be nothing really

Kat will no doubt give him an 18 month extension to his contract and instruct Russell to name him as Club Captain in place of that wimp Jackson.

Roger showed real leadership in clearly defining customer rights!

Just got home after leaving my house originally 17 hours ago. For a professional football player to tell fans who have paid to travel all that way to watch us lose is beyond a disgrace. If he is somehow still here next week at Northampton I hope he gets absolutely battered.

Roger Johnson: I'm at Wolves for the money
Defender Roger Johnson today admitted he stays at Wolves because of the money

It beggars belief that a professional footballer can be that disrespectful to fans who have shelled out to get to Bury in such numbers.
The guy clearly has no allegiance to the shirt or the fans who have paid his wages at Charlton and at his previous clubs.

Can kind of see why such character traits would appeal to Katrien Meire (who I think was instrumental in bringing him to the club). She too demonstrates an arrogant utter disregard for the fans or their views. I can't imagine either shedding a tear on the journey back.

If Johnson is chosen for Cheltenham - the away stand behind the goal is (or used to be) very close to the pitch so we might expect more of the same if things don't go well.

    Truly sad state of affairs.

He also says near the end how it's just him and one other player left out in the cold...... KEVIN FOLEY

If I was being paid thousands of pounds per week for something I was considerably shit at, I think I could probably take a few insults from fans and not rise to it.

The bloke ia a grade A prick.

With a nose the size of hers, she probably could have snorted it off her own arse.

people apparently weren't giving him abuse for 2 hours.

also how many people travel miles out of their way, pay loads of money and have a real passion/love over many years for your company? who then sit there watching you, your colleagues and your bosses slowly tear apart the company that they have given their time, money and love for many generations and after all that they then get told to fuck off by some journeyman employee.

i think we have established thoroughly a football club and its supporters are very different to say a company or a restaurant and its customers.

That' s right, we all have hundreds of people travelling the country and spending hundreds to cheer us on at our place of work.
How many more people are going to use this crass analogy?

Did we not have a mild-mannered reporter reading this who could have asked Slade about it post match? That'd be the only way you'd hear a peep from the club about it I'm afraid

Agree with this and KM effectively said the same thing as Johnson re ST holders not renewing only in less colourful language:

i.e. "its their choice" (not to renew). So they are at heart singing from the same songsheet - the fans - we don't care about them!

Gross misconduct from Johnson, grounds for terminating his contract ?
