I've not seen enough of him to give an opinion but could Holmes-Dennis do a job as a wide midfielder?
I seem to remember reading that he has played midfield as well as full back in the lower sides.2 -
0-0.

I'd have Ba in the middle with Crofts1

He's just had three months off! I reckon we are trying to tempt one of the big boys to up their offer without risking Lookman too much. My money's on Roger Effing Johnson coming back in for Konsa. Slade won't want to leave him out ror too long or it will become a bigger issue when he does come back. Their thinking will be a smaller home gate and the dark of an evening match will be the best possible opportunity. I only hope Cliff Eager and Mick Everett are there to hear Roger's delightful turn-of-phrase so they can show no bias against the Club's supporters by asking him to stay behind for a ticking off. The acoustics should be perfect with sub-8000 there to hear it. Can't see us losing but a draw would be another unsatisfactory result and cement a dismal start that will make a mockery of 'the senior management' guff in Saturday's programme. I reckon Pitch PR have told Meire to use "the senior management team" as often as possible to make it look less like the dictatorship it is and to detach her name specifically from the next balls-up, which can't be far awaySDAddick said:I think it's very wise to hold Lookman back. He's been playing since November of last year, isn't too far off from a whole year of football with very little rest.

3-1 home win. Ajose 2 and Magennis.2

Cliché time .. 'there are no comfortable or easy games in professional football anymore' .. indeed, fitness and the will to win or deny the opposition are omnipresent throughout the game ..
Unchanged team though I would like to see more height at the back

I think Johnson will be brought back for an away game if he is brought back at all. Having a home player booed from the off by the home crowd is not going to create the atmosphere required.1

Can't see past a 0-5 defeat.2

He didn't. He played for England during the summer.Cardinal Sin said:

I'd like to see us go 4-3-3 with a midfield of Crofts, Ba and JJ and Magennis, Lookman and Ajose in the forward positions. At home against Shrewsbury, our full backs can give us additional width and I would want the forward positions to be fluid. We do need a player with energy in the middle and BA needs to be given a chance - even if it may be his last one!
I know Holmes deserves to play, and I'd bring him on as a sub at some point. Alternatively start Holmes and have Lookman on the bench. Having game changers on the bench is a positive. If Shrewsbury are ultra defensive in approach, you could go take off a midfielder and go very offensive.1 -
Mouth watering central midfield 1-2. Ajose first goal followed by to headers from them in the second half.0

Nothing less than a win is acceptable tonight.
Shrewsbury should hold NO fear for us and are likely to come to defend. A nice early goal and I can see a 4-0 home win - Ajose x 2, Holmes and Crofts0 -
Expect a win tonight.0

Bloody ell these predictions are getting madder and madder!

Don't understand where all the optimism is coming from.
0-1.
They score early and we bombard them for the next 80 minutes mustering 1 shot on target.0 -
Mine was truly in jest, just to be clear.
It'll actually be 28-00 -
7-1 to the Addicks. Team will show the 3,500 there the greatest game of the season and in years to come 17,000 will claim to have been there for the game.
Ok maybe not I go 3-1.

I actually think we'll win this. And then the SE7 Valiants Facebook group will suffer a mass orgasm and Sue will spontaneously combust amid talk of winning the title.4
