The best beer I've had recently is the "Yeastie Boys" IPA. They're a NZ brewery and you can buy it in M&S.0

Really enjoyed Thwaites MMXVI 1/2 in The Two Tubs, Bury last Saturday, and at £2.80, I couldn't complain at the price0

Handsome Sam is a cracking pub, Black Dog is very good too, but The Tank is the best in the Whitstable vicinity.0 -

Was at GBBF yesterday....great day/evening.
Tiny Rebel really do some terrific ales.....already liked Cwtch, One Inch Punch & Full Nelson....I can now add Fubar & Fugg Life to that list!0 -
Tickets now on sale for Craft Beer Rising at Truman Building on Brick Lane, held in Feb 2017....a brilliant beer fest....
Current go to favourite is the Northern Monk 'Eternal' session IPA....got about 20 cans in my beer fridge.... I also invested in online craft beer seller Eebria recently through Seedrs and get a mixed case every 3 months for life as part of the deal..second case through yesterday with some cracking beers in it.... (note for @RedPanda : the Yeastie Boys IPA is actually brewed by BrewDog under licence...no idea how it matches up to the original, as haven't been to NZ for 20 or so years....). Happy drinking all :-)2 - Sponsored links:

Passing through Sidcup I noticed a 'micro' pub opening soon. Down near the old Lamourbey swimming pool.
Sorry if this had already been mentioned but just interested if anyone knows anything about the place.0 -

I've been to the Hopper's Hut (1 Invicta Parade), which was good. Run by Brew Buddies. Hours are limited at present.
The other is The Hackney Carriage on Station Road.....yet to visit!0 -
Yes. Thank you. The Hackney Carriage. I'm sure that was it. It seemed to be just about to open to the public.Arry Addick said:

My Dad went there last night as he was invited (as a local Landlord) to their private "Soft Opening". He said it was a very smart and slick bar which unlike many Micropubs serves a few spirits, just vodka and gin he thought. A decent size and you can drink outside till 8.30pm. In a very good area with lots of local business and residential properties. He thinks it will do very well.2

Have just brought six bottles of assorted Vermont craft beer - have IPA'ed my way around Boston, Maine and New Hampshire (in a less than subtle SUV) and and have had some really fantastic beer!1

New England IPA is starting to become its own sub-species. Heavily dry hopped and opaque. In fact, I may need to go out and get one now.IAgree said:Have just brought six bottles of assorted Vermont craft beer - have IPA'ed my way around Boston, Maine and New Hampshire (in a less than subtle SUV) and and have had some really fantastic beer!

You can beat an Old Tom with Chocolate.2

As I understand 20-30 years ago there was a renaissance in micro / craft breweries not unlike that in the UK - as a reaction of the domination of big Breweries. Every area I've visited has its own range and all the ones I've tried have been very good! I have a bottle of maple syrup IPA(8.4%!) and Blueberry Pale chilling as I type!SomervilleAddick said:

First day back am off to the Maidstone CAMRA beer fest at East Malling!1 -
There was a first push about in the 80s/90s which started this, but it faded out a bit, but in the last 10 years there's breweries opening up everywhere. Different business model. Not really brewpubs, but commercial brewers selling to bars, but with tasting rooms where you can drink and also buy take outs. I've lost track of them. There are three opening up in Boston in the next few weeks.0

Enjoyed a few pints of Zepher in the Railway at Blackheath on Wednesday....a very nice Pale Ale from the East London Brewery.0
-
Driving from Stowe to Cape Cod today I crawled through Boston and realised where Somerville was! (Great city btw!)
I Intend to quaff a few on the Cape - any particularly outstanding ones you would suggest trying?0 -
Had about 10'pints of strongbow dark fruit today fucking lovely.2

It sold out of beer on the first day. V successful launch. Managed to get a (lovely) cider before that ran out too. Drove past Tuesday night at 8 and again today and it's been rammed every time. It'll do really well in that location.NomadicAddick said:My Dad went there last night as he was invited (as a local Landlord) to their private "Soft Opening". Also had a few in the Long Pond a few Friday's ago. When does the piano get played? I thought one of the rules was no music?0
