I was hesitant in replying as he did look like Watt in the second picture and expected a Whoosh

“We did have some good characters at Charlton – Chris Solly, Johnnie Jackson and Morgan Fox. There are a lot of people who have been at the club a long time and really do care about it. They are the people you want in the trenches with you if you went to war.

“But there wasn’t enough people like them to carry us through last season and to stay up.

“When you are in a relegation battle you need people to man up and show some cojones and get on with it. We didn’t have enough.

“You can’t say it was just the overseas boys because Johann [Berg Gudmundsson] was one who really cared and gave everything every week.

Yeah the typical football fan who shouts and screams their head off because JBG was not running around like a headless chicken or shouting and screaming at people like RJ does.

He also knows he's not a great at tackling. Much prefer that to when we had say Green on the right who probably tried too hard at times and ended up giving away free kicks.

Wasn't even on the bench on Saturday. Looks like he's third choice.

Pope has always been a striker. Roland just signed him as a keeper as we needed one at the time.

Burnley being Charltonised to the tune of a 100 million quid in the EPL!

Good point. Don't worry, we will be there soon. Katrien said so.
  • Had a feeling this would happen to Pope.

If you sign we'll play you in all the Cup games that we play... Only for Burnley to make no effort staying in any of the competitions so he gets one, maybe two games each season!!

Yep that's the downside but when he looks at his bank balance life's not all that bad. Nice work if you can get it  .

There's not a single downside (other than having to live in Burnley). for Pope. He's out of our madhouse, earning buckets more money, being coached at a higher level and being groomed to take over from Heaton as number one when the latter is sold for megabucks next year on Burnleys relegation. Absolute no brainer.

Thought JBG looked limited last night. Very dangerous on his left but, as the commentators said repeatedly, suss that and there's not much else.

Worked for Megennis in the opposite direction!
  • What is the point of signing him if you are going to play 37 year old Paul Robinson ahead of him.
  • Playing for Burnley tonight in the FA Cup against Sunderland. Currently 2-0 up

  • Clean sheet for " our " Nick.

Thanks for the heads up, @killerandflash .
