Looked her up and she was only 61 when she left Corrie. Thought she was much older than that.2

I was also was surprised she hadn't died decades ago.

Hilda,Stan and Eddie.
3 great Working class characters from the days when you didn't have to be a serial killer.
Jean Alexander was a superb actress who was the polar opposite of Hilda Ogden, a very private lady who had Laurence Oliver as her greatest fan until he died in 89.
Hilda was one of the great Soap Creations and Jean brought her to life with aplomb.

But that was probably old to us back then.DaveMehmet said:Looked her up and she was only 61 when she left Corrie. Thought she was much older than that.
RIP Jean. Even if you were never a soap fan most people had heard of her. Great character.
