I've given elfs a fair bit of stick but he has been known to buy his fair share of rounds. He does have deep pockets and short arms though it must be said.RedChaser said:

Sheffield Wednesday because of their ego's... Charlton because of the average fan waist size?Fiiish said:
Because we're both massive.ForeverAddickted said:

But it's Swindon though. That town in Wiltshire known largely for its unique approach to town planning?ForeverAddickted said:
I get that rivalry between Gillingham and Swindon though as you could say its hilarious that there is a big rivalry between Charlton and Sheffield Wednesday but over the last few seasons there really has been.Fiiish said:
Where would Gillingham rank within our London rivalries then? For me Palace and Millwall are our biggest games, then West Ham. I can't be bothered to rank the rest but I'd put Gillingham somewhere around the same level as Brentford and Orient.Karim_myBagheri said:don't think much of them as a rival but I guess the game means more than say, us playing Watford.
I think the main reason why we would care about the Gillingham game more than others in our division is because our club's fans are more likely able to point to where Gillingham is on a map than most other clubs' fans.
Hilariously, Gillingham count Swindon as one of their biggest rivals. Watch out Wiltshire.
Based on @se9addick's listing I'd go with my top four as
(1) Crystal Palace & Millwall
(2) West Ham United
(3) Sheffield Wednesday & Gillingham
You could say the same about Charlton and Sheffield Wednesday, i.e. why would one of the major city clubs have issue with a village in South East London that has nothing but a few retail parks0 -

Unless you are one of those who have moved out and live down that way, this game means nothing whatsoever.
Think I've been Gillingham 3 times in 40 years; once to the ice rink, once with Welling in the FA Cup, and once with Charlton.

My mate was bought by Swindon from Gillingham.
Swindon fans started singing "he sold his caravan" which I thought was quite funny.3 -

You could say the same about Charlton and Sheffield Wednesday, i.e. why would one of the major city clubs have issue with a village in South East London that has nothing but a few retail parks

I remember his references to Gillingham, now you mention it. I'm sure he referenced Millwall fans walking from Gillingham station when talking about random Brownian motion...0 -

It's a local (ish) rivalry, that's all it is to me, not a derby, don't hate them.

That's it for hatred for me, I dislike Millwall and laugh at them.0 -
