5 years? Means they're still playing the long game?1

Pitch PR earning their money here.2

Hope it's a nice BTTV kit though.
I'll buy it second hand in a few years.0 -
I'm not going to knock this deal because on the face of it it's a good thing. Looking at the bigger picture however it's one sparkle in a general sea of shit.14

"Charlton and hummel will ask each of the club’s official fan groups to nominate one member to join them at The Valley for workshops on the kit’s design."
Look forward to seeing who the nominees are.0 -
think Tom should expect a few emailsBournemouth Addick said:"Tom Sinclair, Sport Market Manager for hummel UK and Ireland, is looking forward to the collaboration: “Through this exciting new partnership we hope to expand further our presence in the UK football market. It would be hard to find a better suited partnership than Charlton Athletic and hummel. Both brands have wonderful histories, place great value in tradition, character and local ties..."
Have a word with Daisy next time you see her then Tom....

Pleased. Good for club and ladies team.
I am hoping we have new owners so I can buy one for my son.3 -
The away kit will look good at places like Hartlepool, Mansfield and Crawley next season.0

This kind of fan involvement in design is an awful idea, in terms of pure design; it's patronising and a distraction.
Any proper designer should do their research, which, of course, should involve talking to the appropriate people and that should include supporters. Organise a full day at the museum talking with one or two of the volunteers, taking in the history, and looking for inspiration amongst the artifacts for design elements. Back to the Valley commemorative kit; talk to some of those in the Valley Party. Talk to club reps who have been involved in kit production before and get their opinion on what works and what doesn't. And so on. Combine that with your skills in selecting fabrics, cuts, colours and motifs to produce a pleasing kit that works.
But don't asks Bob from Eltham or Sue from Perkville to help because they won a raffle, otherwise you're just going to get some Frankensteinian monstrosity. British Airways wouldn't ask them to help fly a plane. Not everything should be driven by cheap brand exercises to superficially increase affinity. We're all better off when we leave that to the pilots who have trained extensively.
I tell you what we'll never have.
A Staprix Commemorative kit.
No five year deals. Just leave.39 -
Working with the fans to produce a kit ?
That will be a committee comprising of Perks, Commerford and Malcolm then.
I'll expect a badge formed of a vol au vent dancing around a maypole.10 -
Do we have to pay extra for the tassels and bells?alan dugdale said:Working with the fans to produce a kit ?

just spoken to Tom and told him it isn't a good idea to be associated with us.11

As long as it is better than the abomination of a Centenary Shirt we had.2
-
The club needs new, responsible owners.
All the rest, like this latest stunt, is just cynical propaganda.

Didnt they use to have a massive tie into Spurs years back?

I told him the fans wouldn't be interested in interacting with them.3

Apparently Roland has a 5 for the price of 3 offer for his network clubs to have Hummel kits0
-
On the face of it a good thing. Should be more succesful than the last five year deal KM agreed (Naby Sarr).3
-
Not gonna be as good as the new Covered End Choir kit next season!15
-
I didn't realise that when you buy shop clothes etc the money goes to the club. I was told the shop was run separately to the club. Whoops.0
-
I like the look of this one. There you go Hummel, do your best6

Surely the main reason we follow Charlton is to see success on the pitch. How many fans are truly concerned about the kit? This is so insignificant.4
