Elliot, Randolph and Pope were not as good as this lad so early. I'm very impressed. His distribution is top notch and will have impressed Robinson who likes his goalkeeper to be expansive. Can't see any obvious weakness to his game so far.10

Think Pope might have the potential to be more commanding in the box and also make saves few others can, but Phillips seems to be more reliable and with excellent distribution.0

Love the way he only uses that exceptional throw when he sees a genuine opportunity - he doesn't just keep hurling it so it becomes predictable. By all accounts he's an exceptionally nice lad too - they were very praiseworthy at Cheltenham about his all round character as well as his ability. In a U-21 game v Palarse he also made one of only a handful of saves that will stay with me for ever.0

Apparently the Cheltenham fans rated him higher than Jack Butland. Seems a nice lad and looks very capable in this division.2

At some point he's going to have a loss of from but we have to stick with him and not get on his back like with did with Pope.6

Hamerton didn't come out enough but other areas of his game were more thand good enough to compensate. Same with Deano and plenty of other keepers. If any keeper has all aspects of their game they won't be at Charlton.Weegie Addick said:

Had a great game today again by the sound of it.
Seems a decent lad as well. It was my Grandson Freddie's 10th birthday party today and a mate of Freddie's lives next door to Dillon's Mum and he was asked whether he would send a shirt through for Freddie's birthday. He duly obliged and Freddie got his signed shirt today and needless to say he was over the moon.

We were discussing this on the train home. Unless Rudd has a clause in his loan agreement stating he must play if fit, I can't see how KR can drop him. Top performance today.1

Not meant to be a pop at Pope but for all the hype when he got near the first team at The Valley he froze and was for a good few games at least a liability. Dillon has strolled into his Charlton first team career looking bloody solid.13

His name would suggest he should be qualified for Wales. And as they aren't exactly blessed with an abundance of keepers I would suggest that Southgate gives him an U21 cap sooner rather than later.1

I can see Rudd coming back in but Phillips will surely be given a pay rise and told he'll be number 1 next season to keep him sweet.1 -
I think Phillips looks the real deal and Rudd may be or may be soon the 2nd best keeper in the league.2

Phillips is solid. He does need to command his back four better but that's a minor critique. You never feel in danger with him. I walked away yesterday wondering if they'll be tempted to send Rudd back. If they do though they'll still need suitable cover.0
