I wonder if this is a game that WHU flood newham residents with the promised freebies.
Great value if so.0 -
FA Cup Third Round. Never heard of it. What's that all about then?5

Oh dear.0

Ha ha0

The funny thing is that after such a terrible performance, a team would normally be booed off the pitch by furious home supporters
The West Ham players got off though, as there were no home supporters left in the ground!5 -
Aint karma a bitch?!0

Settle a bet. When's the last time we didn't play a 3rd round game?0

Man Utd v Reading on BT. Typical unimaginative choice by one of the TV companies, targetting TV ratings and catering for advertisers who welcome the exposure to the millions of Plastic Mancs.
However, it's also Yann Kermorgant v Smalling / Rojo. Should be interesting to see how he goes against a couple of international Centre Backs.1 -
Wish we were involved today0

Surely Liverpool v Plymouth is even more pointless? Hard to think of a less riveting fixture involving a Premier League team if you tried. Even stranger is BT sport showing the Peterborough v Notts County replay in preference to ours because the winner would play Chelsea, and then not bothering to actually broadcast Chelsea v Peterborough at all. Fucking twats.3

Happy Ronnie Radford Day everyone, for me this is the best day in the footballing year, cliches the lot, gutted were not in it.
Despite our record in the cup, home memories include losing to Ipswich 2-3 in a great game, the Spurs replay in a cracking atmosphere the night before I joined the army and beating Kettering at Selhurst.
Away days far better including Harlow Town, White Hart Lane and taking over the Robert Lee pub, Coventry 3-2 win, oh Andy Hunt! Bristol City (not for the feint hearted) and the Old Trafford 10,000.
Special mention to the original giant killers our 1923 side, worth reading up on.

Don't we all, though I think a little break might do us some good this time. Roll on the next match...se9addick said:Wish we were involved today

I doubt the crowds would have reflected that though...(unless we were playing someone big of course)se9addick said:Wish we were involved today

Really ? I would have thought we would want to capitalise on the momentum of that fantastic second half against Bristol Rovers, 12 day break before a game against that lot is the last thing we need.letthegoodtimesroll said:

For the first half against Bristol rovers I thought we didn't look like a team. The second half benefitted from a combination of a great goal & poor defending and the game changed. We need a break for some team building, especially with the changes in playing personnel, and that is something that happens off the field.se9addick said:

Kermorgant subbed after 77 mins, but did ok. Won a few headers, linked up well when dropping off, but had little service and support. Smalling marked him and always looked comfortable.
Sunday League goal conceded by Reading for Uniteds 4th. Al Habsi swung at the ball with his right foot, but connected with his left and Rashford ran the ball into an empty net.0 -
Entertaining as it was to watch London United get their collective arse kicked last night, and shocking as it was to see all those empty seats in the last 10 minutes or so, all we are watching at the moment is the rapid destruction of the soul of the old WHU.
Even when the old WHU is dead, the soulless, atmosphereless prawn sandwich monster will still be squatting in E20. Someone - Americans, Chinese or whoever - will buy it, the porn merchants will immediately be very much richer, and the new owners of the East London franchise will get richer on TV money and the subsidies ripped from the taxpayers' pockets. It only needs modest success on the pitch.
Clubs like Orient and Charlton will suffer. Sky won't care, the Premier League company won't care, our current owner is too self-absorbed to care. The death throes of the old WHU are just the birth process of the monster. The grand scam is still on track.5 -

Bit of luck they go to replay and win0

Have train tickets for Bolton away booked up so am in the odd position of not being completely, totally devastated if Palace win today.0

Northwich Victoria, just about sums it up perfectly for me. 51 years of supporting Charlton and I've never seen us progress beyond the quarter finals in the FA CUP or the League cup.LenGlover said:
