Dr. Emily Grossman; not a traditional sex symbol, but she's got the geekiest little smile when she does explanations on "Duck Quacks Don't Echo".

There's something that steals a little bit of my heart every-time I see how much she really enjoys her science, and the thrill she seems to get explaining stuff. It's rare to see that kind of passion on TV, a nice change from airheads looking for 5 seconds of fame, and other completely scripted nonsense.

Mate, she's absolutely quality. I'd definitely crack out my best science chat up lines.

"Let's role play and pretend your name is Avogadro, now help me memorise your number."

"So you're a doctor? I guess self-diagnosis is frowned upon.. But when you look in the mirror do you ever think you've got Acute Smile?"

Hah, definitely not generational; more a very poor taste in both women and chat-up lines.

Jermaine Defoe did himself no end of good greeting little Bradley in the Sunderland Hospital. Hope the little guy responds to the treatment. Bless.

Following meetings with club supporters' group Total Eclipse of The Sun, Liverpool FC has this afternoon banned reporters at The Sun from Anfield and its other properties. The resentment stems from 1989 when The Sun repeatedly smeared Liverpool fans re. the diasaster at Hillsborough.

I read this earlier and not sure what my view is tbh. The Sun are scum, no doubt about that but seems strange to do it 28 years after the event. Wouldn't imagine there's anyone working there today who was there at the time and was involved. What they did was terrible but surely there comes a time when you have to move on?

And if it's about Murdoch as the boss I assume they are going to ban Sky sports too?
The Scum is a pile of shit but Liverpool banning them while taking millions from Sky is hypocritical, no?
  • It gives me a perverse pleasure to read about the new Brandenburg Berlin airport.

As one who grew up having to listen about the superiority and wonderful efficiency of the German workforce - particularly over us Britishers, it comes as a pleasant surprise to know that the Germans are quite capable of cocking things up.

Construction began in 2006 with a completion deadline of October 2011. Subsequent deadlines have now been set for June 2012, March 2013, Oct 2013, second half of 2017 and now March 2018.

Latest failures include a sprinkler system that doesn’t even start and an 80 percent failure rate of the 1400 electronic doors.

Should the Berlin airports Tegal and Schonefeld close on completion of Brandenburg (as originally planned) the new airport would be working at capacity on day one. Meanwhile the budget has skyrocketed from 2.5 billion euros to 7 billion euros.

(I think I’ve got away with it, I didn’t mention the Olympic stadium once).
  • When we were in Germany the talk was that it would never open...
