Trying to defend the indefensible , in a most desperate look at me aren't I so alternative type of way .
Give it up Leuth , you used to be better than that .

This is spot on. How people can even contemplate trying to defend this Belgian cluster in any way, shape or form would be laughable if it wasn't so bewildering! What possesses someone, of a level headed mindset, to try and find any positives whatsoever when it comes to the running and control of CAFC? Truly bizarre.

I did have to laugh at this twitter post from Mrs Robinson. Him talking isn't bliss love....

  • True. Last season was an absolute clusterf**k that should have seen Meire sacked and rendered unemployable in football. This season has been better. Nicer atmosphere at The Valley, too.

"This season has been better" because we haven't been relegated you mean? "Nicer atmosphere at the Valley" because there hasn't been one or fewer protests? You really aren't doing yourself any favours on here.

    Nicer atmosphere?

The small humble group of MKD fans in the cup, MKD fans for god's sake, created one of the better supporting atmospheres at The Valley this season.

If Karl Robinson hasn't been deliberately misled by this regime then it may still dawn on him how disingenuous they have been churning out alternative facts regarding resources for January signings. A case can easily be made to argue that they sacked Slade, then appointed Karl, and then weakened the team!.
We watched Slade age, and become worn down and deflated before leaving. Karl's Liverpudlian persona will maintain a crust of enthusiasm for longer than Slade, but the care worn cracks are beginning to show, and his narrative is becoming repetitive and much less convincing by the day.
If you want atmosphere, then win eleven of our remaining matches and we might get some.
Otherwise it might be worth considering the 4th March in St Truiden for a taste of atmosphere, however humble the numbers might be.

I don't think sm was referring to you Ricky. I think he was referring to Karl. Though I may be wrong.
  • Is that really a benchmark by which to judge a club ?
Few fans but a nicer atmosphere ?
I suggest those that think so, takenup watching County Championship cricket.

Oh! I'll amend my comment. I honestly though SM was a shortened user name for Sue Meire.

It's only a matter of time before someone in the club refers to Fake News in relation to claims against Duchatalet/Meire

Leuth, I will give you the fact that Roland has a couple of serious rivals for the dubious honour of being the worst owner in the game - You only have to look at Blackpool and Leyton Orient! But the odds of our next owner being as bad as him are very low indeed. It would be hard to be as bad as him if you tried! He is somebody who doesn't understand football and he appoints people around him who don't know anything about football! Village idiots don't usually have the money to buy clubs so I'd happily take a chance on that!

Roland may have turned into a village idiot with the passing of the years, or he may just be one when it comes to football - but he is clearly clueless!

The only way we could get an owner as bad as this one would be if he "sold" the cloob to one of his business acquaintances.

And when it no longer matters, when the play offs are out of sight we will go on a little run.

And all will be well, the future will be bright and we'll be told to renew our season tickets, get behind the team and wait to see how wonderful the rebuilt squad will be in August.

And some will buy the lies again, just like before.

That is how Powell began tbf
Even if Robinson equals Powell, Meire doesn't equal Varney. There was a huge back office effort to build that promotion squad. It wasn't just the manager.
And that is why this is not a managerial issue

Sorry that's bollocks. People care in different ways. Comments like this just help the regime by driving a wedge between the fan base.

I think that's a tad unfair. The comment was that most fans that care don't go. Given that there are more boycotting than are attending (based on the actual crowd figures rather than the official ones) I think it's a fair comment.
If " Only fans that don't go anymore care about the club" had been written, then fair enough.

Yet again he's digging out some players, anyone care to guess which one's? Moral is going to be rock bottom, this could be dangerous if he loses the dressing room.

He's said not for the first time about peoples dedication, in one sentence he mentions rather having an average player giving 100% than a skilful player just doing enough, and makes mention of the Arsenal Loanee's attitude (when we scored).

I think if he's here in the summer they'll be an even bigger clearcut than most of us fear.

    1. Declan Rudd - Will go
    2. Lewis Page - Remain
    3. Adam Chicken - Remain
    4. Johnnie Jackson - Will go (sadly, the end is nigh)
    5. Patrick Bauer - Will go
    6. Roger Johnson - Will go (please please please)
    7. Tony Watt - Will go
    8. Andrew Crofts - Might stay I think, one more year.
    9. Josh Magennis -Will go
    11. Ricky Holmes - Will go
    12. Stephy Mavididi (will go back
    13. Dillon Phillips -Remain
    14. Jordan Botaka - Will go
    15. Ezri Konsa - Will go
    16. Jason Pearce - Remain
    17. Fredrik Ulvestad - Will go
    18. Karlan Ahearne-Grant - Will go
    19. Jake Forster-Caskey - Remain
    20. Chris Solly - Remain
    21. Nathan Byrne - Will go
    25. Ahmed Kasha - Gone
    26. Harry Lennon - Will go
    27. Dimitar Bitov - Will go
    30. Lee Novak - Will go
    32. Joe Aribo - Remain
    35. George Lapse - Remain
    36. Jay Dasilva - Will go
    42. Jordan Beeney - Will go
    50. Jorge Teixeira - Will Go

I think thats how depleted a base we will be starting from.

Why will Magennis and Holmes go?
TBF Magennis might stay but I expect he'll have offers, and if someone offers more than we paid he'll go.

Holmes is an interesting one, KR pointing out that yesterday he did what he needed to wear the shirt indicates to me that previously in KR's mind he hadn't, he was probably promised a promotion push (like us!) and again may have other offers so expect him to go if the money is right.

He would. He might try to tough it out, but his ego wouldn't be able to take it when people started making fun of the fact he has a football club that no fans go to watch.

All the time there are still a few thousand going, he can use them to his advantage by getting Meire to 'engage' publicly so it looks like the ones staying away are the problem. If everyone stayed away, it would embarrass him considerably.

We all need to call for an all out boycott then.

If he does sell I genuinely believe he should be happy with what he paid for us, about £14m if I remember correctly.

I think that is a fair figure taking into account our 'potential'.

What he's put in or invested on top of that and ultimately squandered is his own fault and that of our incompetent CEO. Why any prospective buyer should be asked to pay for his mistakes is laughable.

I get starting high and coming down to an acceptable middle ground as per standard rules of negotiation, but if he has this £14m figure as an end game then I think that would be very sensible of him.

Anything higher screams delusion and ego.

It should hit home to him after as a lesson learned at the ripe old age and of 70 and if he has any grievances over his loss, he can take them up with KM

Just for clarity, @cables, can you confirm the following. Charlton is worth the same now as it was three and a half years ago, despite being in a lower division, having sold its best players, hired replacements of a lower quality on inflated wages and seen a dramatic reduction in tv income and gate receipts. Despite all that, you're suggesting Charlton - losing a million quid a month - is still worth what he paid for the club?

There's no way it's currently worth that. Duchatelet should be looking for 20p in the pound for the debt, plus a pound for the club. The fact he wants to make a "profit" is precisely why he's still holding the club.

    Give it to Kenny Jackett.
