Storm Doris

What's the forecasts for rest of day / night?

Neighbours wall has been blown clean over, fence taken out, tree down next road and my garden fence and trampoline don't look like they will stay in place much longer

The wind I'm experiencing in Ashtead is incredible. Knocked me over at one point. The weather's pretty rough too.

Thanks a lot, I look really stupid now.
  • Managed to play (attempt) 8 holes at Chestfield earlier today.
    Before we gave up!
By the way I'm sure Palace has a full back called Doris in the 80's!

I'm sure the wind is getting stronger.

I've been out for most of the day but came home to find our two heavy 12ft pario heaters with full gas cannisters have been blown over onto the patio table, which has stopped them going straight through our bi-fold patio doors. One hell of a lucky escape!
  • Have you ever noticed how most batshit crazy hurricanes are named after women?

    Coincidence?? I think not!!
  • I went out to feed the chickens earlier and my cock was blown over next door's fence.

There was a crisp packet spinning violently on our decking from about 2-3pm.

    Prawn Cocktail I think.

This isn't a storm, Oh no, apparently it's a 'Weather Bomb'.

Apparently the proper term is explosive cyclogenesis, but that's a bugger to say and harder to spell.

Pretty hectic at Victoria. Someone has been struck with debris... from the roof of the brand new ticket entrance.

Fire and ambulance in attendance. Large chunk of Victoria road closed off. New entrance is obviously closed.

Looked more like a bomb scare at first tbh.
  • I understand £3.75 worth of damage has been caused in New Cross.

Wasn't it Storm Katie that promised a lot, but turned out to be a couple of blasts of hot air before it all petered out and disappeared without trace?
Evening to my new friends in SE9, windy out isn't it? ;)

'Wind' and 'Doris' are two words you would expect to hear in an old people's home.
