Rudd: 4 poor goalkeeper, been saying it for a number of weeks now, his distribution is dogshit, and his overall command of his area is almost non existent.
Byrne: 7 didn't stop running, booked late on but overall played very well
Konsa: 6 takes too long to clear the ball, but made some vital interceptions
Teixeira: 7 dominant in the air and a real threat at set pieces, unlucky not to score early on
Chicksen: 7 quick, gets forward well and defends nicely too, the opposite of Page
Jackson: 7.5 Talisman, took his goal well and worked hard throughout
Aribo: 6.5 some good touches, grew into the game
Ulvestad: 6 decent first half, faded badly
Holmes: 8 played as a false nine, and ran himself into the ground for the cause
Magennis: 6 muscled off the ball more often than first half of the season, but battled a bit more tonight
Novak: 6.5 worked well, very good in the air and offered an outlet on the left
Crofts: 5 came on and immediately looked lost, our tempo seemed to drop

Watt: what a dickhead, will now think he's some sort of saviour, booked for celebrating in the crowd, done sod all other than selfishly take the penalty

Rudd: 5 should have done better for the goal
    Byrne: 6.5 worked hard
Konsa: 7 thought he did well, got back to make a crucial block at one point
Teixeira: 7.5 generally good, won us the penalty and thus the game
    Chicksen: 7.5
Jackson: 7 seems like he was in a less exposed role, had a good game and knows where the goal is
    Aribo: 6.5
    Ulvestad: 6
    Holmes: 8 never gave up.
Magennis: 6 doesn't look fit, hope he gets time to properly recover
    Novak: 6.5 battled well
Crofts: 5 gets an extra .5 for getting back and making a good tackle on one of their breaks but, really?, a playmaker who can't find a red shirt

Rudd 5 - error for goal; little else to do
Byrne 6 - doesn't have the build of a full back but did ok with a good work ethic
Chicksen 6 - generally assured but rarely got forward
Texeira 8 - confident strong performance; won the penalty
Konsa 7 - some important contributions and cool head
Jackson 7 - clever goal and pace not an issue in front of defence
Ulvestad 7 - has a turn of pace and generally uses ball intelligently
Holmes 6 - didn't have run of green in unfamiliar position
Aribo 6 - occasionally anonymous but has the leggy midfield style which seems en vogue these days
Magennis 7 - battering ram with a brain
Novak 5 - not sure what he adds; poor man's Andy Hunt
    ---
Watt 7 - made himself a nuisance and scored the winner
Crofts 6 - will never be iconic but I like his effort

    Rudd: 5.5 his cock-up, I'm afraid
Byrne: 7 thought he defended well for the most part!
Konsa: 7.5 great stuff - made the best tackle I've seen all season
Teixeira: 7.5 MOM solid in our box, terrifying (for them!) in theirs. Nearly scored arguable goal of the season
Chicksen: 7 got forward well, defended nimbly
Jackson: 7.5 Had a storming first half, faded in the second but a reassuring presence
Aribo: 7 Really strong running, turning, winning free kicks etc. Final ball not so great today but worked ever so well
Ulvestad: 6.5 Won a lot of headers and completely up for it
    Holmes: 7.5 What a shift!
Magennis: 6.5 We needed his presence and looked lost when he went off
Novak: 6 Played well until Magennis went off, then looked the lostest of anyone
Crofts: 5.5 We ceded a lot to them when he came on

Rudd: 6 think a bit of a clanker
Byrne: 7 did well, out of position a few times but good cover for Solly
    Konsa: 7 some vital interceptions
Teixeira: 7 back to his best/better self, unlucky not to score
Chicksen: 7 best left back at the club, puts page to shame
Jackson: 9 Captain marvellous, despite his reactions not as quick his positioning superb, leader and knows where the goal is, I so love this bloke and when he's gone will be hard to replace, queue humble pie on the 'come in number 4' thread.
Aribo: 7 had a 'good' game
Ulvestad: 6 first half one of his best performances, not sure where he went second half
Holmes: 8.5 not his best game attacking but ran a serious distance, what an effort, team of Ricky Holmes.
Magennis: 6.5 just doesn't look fit but can't fault the effort
Novak: 7 battling performance for the team
Crofts: 5 awful in my view, went a bit to pot when he came on.

Watt, I wouldn't have let him take the penalty, Jacko couldn't look, but did put it away well, did nowt else.

Crowd 2-10, awful, just awful numbers, but helped the team home, well done all.

Rudd 5.5 Flapped for the goal
Byrne 7 Really impressed with him at RB
Konsa 7 Overall solid.Amazing last ditch tackle.
    Teixeira 8 Commanding defence performance
Chicksen 7 Much better then Page.Careful with the ball.
    Jackson 7 Leader.
Aribo 6.5 I want a bit more from him.
Ulvestad 7.5 I thought he made a big difference.
Holmes 7 Definitely Player of the Season.
    Magennis 6.5 Didn't win many headers,and didn't look right.
    Novak 6.5 I don't dislike him as a player,just meh.
Crofts 6 Came on we looked worse.
Watt N/A Took the pen.But lost out in a race with a fat centre back who'd been on the pitch for 80 minutes.

Give the players all a 7 bar Rudd who I award a 4, what the hell was he doing for their goal, Stan Boardman gets a 2, I know Maginnes got injured and had to go but to bring on Crofts and not change the bloody diamond formation was football incompetency. Not digging out Crofts but play him in his right position and not bring him on and do a role he is not able to do adequately. Credit to Mr Jackson, once again right place right time = 1-0.

Byrne: 5 - made some mistakes and looked the least effective of the starting XI
    Konsa: 6
Teixeira: 7 - admirable. Class player who could easily get a berth elsewhere, but is rolling up his sleeves and getting on with it for us.
    Chicksen: 6
Jackson: 7 - nice to see him score and did enough
    Aribo: 6
    Ulvestad: 7
Holmes: 8 - Man of the Match. Bound to be sold in the summer!

Watt: 6 - Thank goodness he scored. Perhaps he'll cheer up now.

  • Rudd: 4, Seems passionate, but don't see how he played in the prem last year.
Byrne: 7, far better left back than playing on the wing, lightning quick.
Konsa: 6, solid enough, one great last ditch tackle.
Teixeira: 6, always worried he has a mistake in him, done well going forward.(unlucky off the bar!)
Chicksen: 7, cracking game. Got forward well.
Jackson: 8 MOM not the player he once was but his command was what we have been missing in the middle.
    Aribo: 6, good 1st half
    Ulvestad: 6, much better.
    Holmes: 7, didn't stop!
    Magennis: 6, chased everything.
Novak: 6 1/2, not the most gifted but worked for his place today, and caused them trouble.
Crofts: 2, WHY? We was amazing for the 1st hour. Negative impact, always backwards. (SHOCKING FROM ROBBO)

Watt: 5 Good pen, but the geezers a twat. Stupid booking. Lazy bastard.
Ahearn-Grant: 4, not enough time to do much.

Rudd: 6 thought he had a decent game. The goal was strange. He needed to make the interception and was never going to be able to catch it - he should've pushed it away but was caught in two minds. It wasn't costly though. Some very harsh marks being dished out.

Byrne: 6.5 thought he done well at RB. Made a few good tackles. Attacked well.

Konsa: 7.5 there was one stunning, goal saving tackle. I thought he could've reacted quicker for the goal conceded but that maybe harsh.

Teixeira: 7.5 unlucky not to score and should've won us a penalty when tripped. Made the right decisions as to when to clear his lines or play it out today. Good game.

Chicksen: 7 I thought he was our best player (apart from Holmes) in the first half. Good defending and was a huge threat when attacking. Needs to be starting.

Jackson: 8 took his goal very very well. Was solid sitting between the midfield and defence. Made some great tackles. Although he went missing for snippets of the game, he was constantly pulling Aribo/Konsa/Ulvestad into position and was talking to them throughout. You cannot teach that. That's something we miss when he's not playing in the middle like today. Well done Jacko.

Aribo: 7 grew into the game. Very composed for a young lad. He will only get better.

Ulvestad: 7 thought he played well considering before Saturday he has missed a lot of footy. Skilful.

Holmes: 8.5 that energy and determination is outstanding. The period of the game where we closed down as a team superbly was started by Holmes. That effort is top class.

Magennis: 6 hopefully not too injured. Worked well with Holmes and is quick for a big man. Solid.

Novak: 7 put in a real shift today. Held the ball up well and brought others into the game. Would like to see him get into shooting positions more.

Crofts: 5.5 not a problem with him in particular, but to bring him on into a 4-3-3 styles formation at that period of the game was a very poor decision. It was almost costly.

Watt: n/a very lazy. He scored a good penalty that I thought he wa going to miss but he came on in the 80th minute... yet was strolling around offside. It's laziness.

Ahearn-Grant: n/a decent cameo. Would much rather see him than Watt.

Nothing beats a winning feeling. Nothing beats a Johnnie Jackson knee slide.

Rudd: 6 - One great save, actually thought he had dealt with the initial cross for the goal and then panicked.
Byrne: 7 - Think fullback is his better position. Solly going to find it hard to get back in
Konsa: 7.5 - Tackle in the second half was immense.
Teixeira: 7 - Looked more up for it tonight.
Chicksen: 7.5 - Proved what a fullback should do. Defend well and get forward as much as possible.
Jackson: 8.5 - A leader. Role tonight was tailor made for him. Sit there win tackles and lots of headers.
Aribo: 7.5 - Bursts into life for periods of the game, will be a proper player when he can do this for longer periods.
Ulvestad: 7 - New system first half suited him. Tired 2nd half and got a bit lost.
Holmes: 8 - Does not always come off for Ricky, but you can put up that when a player puts a shift like that in.
Magennis: 7 - Ended too far wide in the 1st half but certainly noticed when he went off.
Novak: 6 - worked hard but just does not look good enough sorry to say.
Crofts: 6 - Normally would be in the Jacko role and getting further forward does not suit him.

Robinson - Tactics at the start with a diamond formation really suited us tonight, but made a mistake with the 1st substitution and then the players didint really understand their jobs. Overall though a good team performance.

    Rudd: 5
Byrne: 7. Best game since his debut
Konsa: 8. Quality. Great goal saving tackle
Teixeira: 7. Looks better without Bauer
Chicksen: 7.5. Best left back by far
Jackson: 7. Goal and helped team look hungry
    Aribo: 6.5. Quiet

Holmes: 8. Love his work rate even when not at his best.
Magennis: 6. Something is not right with him
Novak: 7. One of his best games. Not brilliant but improvement on effort
    Crofts: 5. Wrong sub choice.

Watt: n/a. Was a big fan, out ran by lumbering centre back, looked fucked after 2 mins then acted like our saviour when scoring a pen. Still it was good though
    Ahearn-Grant: n/a
