4-5-1 does not work. Looked a lot better when 4-4-2. Good goal from Watt. Fair result in the end. Consolidating our position in League 1.7

They will be unhappy with a draw so I guess we should be happy with a point. Better 2nd half as we were woeful first. Their no 2 was superb.0

After the "performance" in the first 45mins we were lucky to only be 1-0 down at HT.
WTF Robinson changed the formation is anyone's guess. Nearly back-fired spectacularly.
Created very few clear cut chances, yet another injury and another sub 7k crowd.
Pluses - goal for Watt, Chicksen and Ulvestad at CB. Not much else to say.5 -

6 points clear as you have to assume Vale will at least get to 40 points from their 3 games in hand.

Thought we looked a bit more of an attacking force than we have done in the last few home games.
Defensively, what do they do in training all week? So disorganised, no hint of being a defensive "unit". Given away some monumentally stupid goals this season, with another one on the list today. Should have been a goal down in the first ten minutes as well, gave away loads of chances.
The more games I watch under Robinson, the better Slade looks. The main issue, as has always been the case, is that we haven't got a very good team. At least Slade had a game plan to manage the limited resources, even if it was a boring one. I don't see any hint of a plan under Robinson.

Why did Karl Knobinson go back to 4231 after we beat Scunthorpe playing 442? And as soon as we changed to 442 in the second half we equalised.3

Considering early reports suggested Holmes wasn't starting he had a good game.
We were awful for most of the first half, gave them so much space out wide. I thought their goal was offside but couldn't say that with any certainty.
Looked quite a lot better second half and thought if we had nicked a goal they wouldn't have been able to complain. Etheridge made some good saves to keep it to 1-1.
Watt took his goal well.

Dire - why was that formation chosen at the start and what was going on with the substitutes and the formation changes as a result of that? At least Ulvestad showed he can play at centre back if needed. Why totally change a system and a style that worked Tuesday night, even though Magennis was injured?3

Blimey, lot of negativity on here. Considering the injuries we have and then the loss of Konsa I thought under the circumstances we played some good attacking football and other than the first 20 minutes in the first half bossed the game; just don't have anyone to finish. Have to agree with the comment about Watt. Don't think it's got anything to do with fitness, he's just a lazy sod. Holmes put a good shift in as did JJ when he came on.0

Poor performance, ulvestad did well when required to play centre back , stick him there every week .2

Not here today as those of you who read pre-match thread would've seen. As confirmed, Meire not there either and as I told you all, she was with me, visiting my old dear down in Axminster.
The weekend started last night as I met her at Waterloo in natural kitchen on the upstairs concourse. I was starving, despite having smashed a lunch with my workcrowd earlier on and 3 pints of Trafalgar. I opted for 2 pieces of cooked chicken, a piece of salmon and all the salad. Katrien was mildly agitated at both the volume of food and how quickly I consumed it, akin to a duck, very little chewing. I think she was on the phone to Sue, complaining about my vociferous approach to my food, but I was too busy focusing on stuffing my gob, so I can't be sure.
When I was done I told her I must get a toothbrush from boots as I'd forgotten my electric toothbrush. More tutting. I said it didn't matter that I'd forgotten it as the brush heads were due for replacing anyway. She smirked and said go and get your toothbrush. Toothbrush purchased I went to the M&S to buy flowers for my mum. This again caused a bit of derision as she highlighted the lack of romance shown to her and how I never buy her flowers. I reminded her of how much effort I put in to courting her and the length of time it took me to woo her via email. Once again she smirked and asked what time the train was.
Train journey down was fairly uneventful. I mainly stayed on my phone flitting between this site, twitter, bet365 and this new Readly app I've downloaded. I got engrossed in one of the science based magazines and an article about the edge of the universe. I could sense her disapproval at the lack of interaction, but it didn't matter as around 9pm she got a call from Roland and the conversation took place in their natural tongue. I can't be sure but from his end I heard a lot of 'huh', the word disco, celebrations, Karl, target 20, ductape and laughing. She got very animated at Crewkerne because, as you come into this part of the world, you lose signal.
I tried to quiz her about her conversation but she coldly told me to mind my own business and get back to my silly Charlton fans website with all the other losers.
So we arrived at my mum's and it's all very frosty if I'm honest. She's in a bad mood, I'm on edge because my mum has already have to see me go through one divorce, she's very wary of me letting another woman into my life and I don't want this to all start on the wrong foot. We retire and hope that a good night's sleep will do us the world of good and we'll be fresh for a day trip to Exmouth in the morning.
She's slightly more upbeat as we wake this morning. I sense relief that she's happy she doesn't have to be at that God foresaken football ground today with all the vinegar pissers. Breakfast is an amiable affair, polite chit chat. My mum asks her about her job, the role, how she's finding it. Katrien repiles politely and then nips upstairs to brush her teeth and get ready. I take this opportunity to remind my mum who has never really paid an interest in Charlton, that it's not going very well at the moment. I try and explain the protests, the general dissent and what's happening. I can hear Katrien lurking at the top of the stairs, earwigging. I bring the discussion to a close and we all set of for Exmouth followed by a trip to Exeter Cathedral.
Tough day if I'm honest. It all came to blows when I saw we'd gone a goal down. I lost it in the Cathedral as some school choir was practicing. "Your fault" I shouted, as I stormed off. My mum was very concerned at this point. She followed me out, told me to calm down, go back in there and sort it out. I did, we equalised and Katrien smirked again and said, "see, a draw, you're always talking about how you want consolidation".
I was still in a mood as we left. Before we left, my mum said let's light a candle. I said okay. As we left, my mum asked what I lit the candle for. I replied "my football club". Katrien sneered "it's not your football club, it's Roland's"
We're going out for dinner tonight, going back tomorrow. I'm not sure if I've got it in me to carry it on to be honest. I've seen a different side to her this weekend.

Before I start I must say that the officials were atrocious. Byrne getting booked for a 50/50 challenge and Holmes getting hacked down at least twice without the ref giving a card to the opposition for far worse indiscretions. I must have been the only one in the ground to see the pass back in the first half that the keeper picked up. Robinson once again choses the 1 up front when we are at home for god sake. We got torn a new one down the left and Byrne was struggling but as soon as he changed it to 2 up front we started to put pressure on them. Great goal by Watt and if it wasn't for some wasteful finishing by Walsall it would have been a small consolation. JJ once again breaking things up when he came on and Novak also putting in a shift to hassle the back four. Holmes man of the match for me for another gut busting performance.1

Really doubt relegation is likely but 3 below won today including Port Vale with 3 games in hand. If they win one of them then the gap to bottom 4 is 6 (but goal difference in reality means 7). Should be safe...0
