Today I will mostly be listening to ....

Sufjan Stevens' "Carrie & Lowell Live." I cannot recommend this highly enough, brilliant musicianship and beautifully moving.

a prolific artist and certainly up there as one of the best. pretty much love all his albums including this one. he paints such a vivid landscape in his music. "Carrie & Lowell" is more personal than his previous which i think gives it added depth. it's as you say beautifully moving.
he is one of my favourite artists that I still have not seen live. always seem to miss him.

Having got my old sony system working in the greenhouse, what to christen it with became the question, Who's next was my first.

New Gorillaz album, got 3 songs in and turned it off - don't get the hype with them.

Nor me to be honest.

Have a lot of respect for Damon Albarn on his many incarnations over the years, but this just doesn't work for me.

Not heard that for years, going to put it on now.

Not sure how I missed the J Cole album but it is great. Listening to Cashmere Cat as well which has too many guest artists for my liking but not bad.

Decent album... Superb live act

I love Gorillaz, seeing them in Margate in June, new album's decent but far from their best.

Been listening to Mac DeMarco's new album 'This Old Dog', and I think its brilliant, absolutely love it.

Here's a song off it:

Thurston Moore - Musical Consciousness, only 5 songs but they are between 6 and 12 minutes long. Worth a listen if you liked Sonic Youth

Spearmint - A Week Away

Street Rituals by Srone Foundation. Guest appearances from Weller, William Bell and Bettye LaVette.

Going to the Mods featival at the 100 Club at the weekend?

On my third listen of "for crying out loud" Kasabian's new one. It is majestic, truly magical.

Aimee Mann - Mental Illness

Bizarrely all these years later and I've only just "discovered" them.
Any fans on here?

Spirit of Eden is superb, and the Mark Hollis solo lp is good too.

Being dreadfully out of touch, the Beatles compilation Love, nice mix of stuff to clean the fish to, only trouble is the Cat thinks I'm preparing a buffet.
