For example, i think hes a better bowler at the death than Ball.The_President said:I agree Canters ( i know it doesnt happen that often
) but thought Dernbach was good.

I also think he's got better with experience.The_President said:

I was surprised Morgan brought Ball back on. I thought he'd lose us a close match and he nearly did.bolloxbolder said:
Also tells us Ball cannot be relied upon.killerandflash said:Stokes as VC
Perhaps Morgan wanted to see how he'd do, so he'd have a good idea for the ICC starting Thursday ?1 -
With Woakes and Stokes not available to bowl at the death on Saturday, there weren't many options left anyway, and if he's in the squad, then it's good to see if he's up to bowling thenCovered End said:

Ball should not be starting, I am actually a big fan of Willey and he adds depth, surprised he hasn't been used much in the batting, and provides a left-handed option too. Certainly better than Ball.2

If anybody interested My boy has two spare tickets for England v New Zealand at Cardiff on June 6th just looking for his money back at £50 each, unfortunately we can't make it. Castle stand, block 19, row D seats 24 and 25. Both gold adult. Let me know if your interested.0

Agree, Willet just adds something different in my opinion. Wish he could remain fit.cafcfan1990 said:Ball should not be starting, I am actually a big fan of Willey and he adds depth, surprised he hasn't been used much in the batting, and provides a left-handed option too. It'll be interesting who plays today, with Finn and Roland-Jones both pace options called up by England, and whether Ball gets another chance
When do England have to choose their squad for the Champion's Trophy?0 -

I agree. Willey is underrated in this format...cafcfan1990 said:Ball should not be starting, I am actually a big fan of Willey and he adds depth, surprised he hasn't been used much in the batting, and provides a left-handed option too. Certainly better than Ball.

Sorry President, it might have been helpful if I mentioned the venue. Original post now amended to show venue.0

Apart from Tahir (who has a minor injury), South Africa have their best side on show with Morkel, Duminy and Parnell returning.0

Tahir got smacked around by Ali in first game, if the balls not turning he could become a liability at this level.1 -
There is a reason Roy doesn't open in First Class cricket - T20 and batting for 5-10 overs is his strength.0

I was wondering where Morkel wasAddick Addict said:Apart from Tahir (who has a minor injury), South Africa have their best side on show with Morkel, Duminy and Parnell returning.
Overcast today, with rain expected. Tougher batting conditions1 -
Mainly due to the fact that England had left handers in the shape of Morgan, Stokes and Ali.The_President said:Addick Addict said:Apart from Tahir (who has a minor injury), South Africa have their best side on show with Morkel, Duminy and Parnell returning.

Anyone know which county Parnell and Rabada played for in the last two seasons - where they might have been taught in the conditions by a certain 41 year old.3

Fantastic bowling by South Africa. My first visit to Lords in 1972 was very similar, when Bob Massie of Australia swung the ball round corners and took 8 wickets. I think England were about 40-6 in that game. Lords can produce the ultimate bowling conditions every now and again, like this morning, it's a freakish ground2

I said this on the ICC Champions Trophy thread last night.
"I think we can win this with home advantage & the fact that the final is at The Oval and not Lords where our record is comparatively poor."
I'm not massively surprised by our early Lords collapse today.1
