Lafferty is a massive troublemaker, the Unionist equivalent of James McLean but with more diving and fouling. Doubtless the Rangers fanboys on here think he's a patriotic hero though0

Wilder said the club are also hoping to secure moves for Charlton midfielder Ricky Holmes and Southend midfielder Ryan Leonard.
"I think it's common knowledge we have bids out for Ricky and Ryan, but we understand that these deals don't always get completed," he said.
"Some players you get in quickly and it's easy and some take a bit of time. You can reach a point where you have to move on.

Robinson is just as guilty of it but it's not right that managers get away with comments like this. Publicly tapping players up.Scoham said:http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40382916

It's headhunting. The title 'tapping up' is absolute BS... It and other laws of football are mad when compared to recruitment law.1

Katrien would actually earn a bit of respect from me if she came out and told Wilder to sod offThe Red Robin said:

Of course that wont happen.
In all seriousness though Wilder sounds sort of defeated in this.2 -

Sheffield United have done some really good early business already, they brought in Enda Stevens from Portsmouth and George Baldock from MK Dons.1

Looks like Ben Reeves isn't signing a new deal with us and likely to be signing elsewhere in the next 48 hours - another of our players has taken his shirt number (10), and he hasn't been at pre-season training so far. Our official site mentioned another player's absence from training (international duty), but didn't mention Reeves at all.
99.9% sure he's leaving us, and I'm expecting him to sign for you soon.19 - Sponsored links:

Why does that mean Ricky is going3
-

I think most of us expect Holmes to go if Reeves signs as we can't cope with the idea of Roly giving us a decent squad.3
-
Not quite sure how you'd fit Holmes, Marshall, Clarke and Reeves in the same team. I know we need depth, but there's also Fosu and Aribo as attacking midfielders.0

Fair point, but it's the law in football. I'm aware I'm probably stretching it with this specific comment if I'm using it as an example of tapping up but you see it all the time.Dazzler21 said:It's headhunting. Or maybe as the senior management were quoted in April after a 13 million pound loss that it would not happen again. Maybe if they are not going to sell, then a small budget has been given to the manager for now, unless money can be raised from outgoings. Holmes and Konsa are the 2 favourites for that to happen.Swisdom said:

Expect more cheap/free signings. You're deluded if you think otherwise.0 -
Come on dazzler where are you don't let us down !!!1

Its healthy having competition. It's a long season. We had to patch Ricky up so much, as he was our only real winger.
I'd rather have healthy (not over loaded) completion than having one or two. They could, be complacent, knowing they'll never be dropped.
I liked Fox. But there was a time, where he needed some time out, but we had no depth to do this.
Reeves, Fosu, Clarke, Marshall will be good, possibly one more winger. I'll be amazed if Ricky stays. The good thing about the four mentioned above, could in theory, play in a fluid 3, behind Josh. I'll be surprised if the 3 will be structured, and stick to their positions. All of the above have played wide, in the hole and also as inside forwards. Thumbs up so far from me.4 -
Sorry, are you saying one would be deluded if one thought we will not sign anyone else, or deluded if one thought that a fee would be involved, or deluded if one thought we will not sell both Konsa and Homes?shirty5 said:

Comment from a work colleague who is a long standing Reading season ticket holder:
'.....btw you lot got a real bargain nicking Fosu from us, he's a fab talent'.

I genuinely think that Holmes will stay and that we will sign Reeves and another winger.
We will be having 3 behind Josh and Robinson has said about a balanced squad. Two number 10s being Reeves and Clarke and 4 wingers being Holmes, Marshall, Fosu and another.
There will be injuries and suspensions, loss of form etc. It would be silly if Holmes and Reeves were injured for example and we were only left with 3.1 -
If this Reeves bloke signs he'd better do the bloody business.Sage said:I genuinely think that Holmes will stay and that we will sign Reeves and another winger.

I personally rate him very highly and think he will be a key player for us going forward this season.up_the_valley said:
