Poor show from DBD and SNE though - pair must be ripe for being dropped.

Nah, it'll be Dickson dropped for beating head coach Matt Walker's 275!

Dickson has now scored the second highest individual score for Kent on 308* having overtaken WH Ashdown's 305*. Just WH Ashdown's 332 ahead of him now.

    EDIT: Now 317* Kent 642-3

Dickson only needs another 42 and he will have scored more in this innings than he has for the whole of the rest of the season.

WH Ashdown metaphorically punches the air

    I wonder when we'll declare?
  • Kent have got a long tail for this game though.

Rouse now out, and for the first time in in about 100 overs, Northants bowlers actually want to bowl!

Incidentally 695-6 is Kent's second highest ever score as a team.

The highest is 803-4 against Essex at Brentwood in 1934.

Pleading with you Len - although it would be warranted, please don't flag MOL for this. Especially as MOL, with his family connections, is a closet Essex supporter anyway.

Duckett's trying to chase this down himself - 15 off 12 balls already.

Time for scoreboard pressure to kick in......

Is it a traditionally flat wicket there?
What was the score at games last year ?

I have a concern and that is I can't see where our back up seamers are. We rely on a 41 year old plus Coles and Claydon who, with figures of 2-358 in his last three and a bit games, would surely have been "rested" by now if we had the resources in the 2nds. Hunn has come in for Stevens but is he the solution?

In addition to Hunn (and Gidman - not a front line seamer) we have the likes of Haggett, Thomas, Ball, Bernard, Hartley (T20 etc etc but are any of them really pushing for a first team place on a regular basis?

A bit frustrating that we have a solution in Milne, but can't play him and Milne

Must be strange for Rouse to be an outfielder, I'd imagine Billings is far more used to it seeing that he always seems to be a batsman only for England. I wonder which is the better keeper?

Well I am going to shout it out loud and I don't care who thinks I have cursed the side -

WE CANNOT LOSE THIS GAME NOW!

BUT CAN WE WIN IT ?
