Same thing's just happened to Federer. Two matches in a row on Centre Court.

Boutler went from 2-0 up in the third set to losing 6-3. Out in the first round in her first Wimbledon.

Bernard Tomic just said in his post match interview that tennis bores him, but at least he can play for another 10 years & never have to worry about money!!

Wonder if they'll move one of the yet to start matches onto Centre Court now. Still got a while to the end of the day and no matches scheduled left.

My mum just text me about it, she's not amused. Federer = Wimbledon for her and probably a few thousand other women.

    They have done.

Wozniacki on Centre... lots of people will be happy about that.
  • I'm a big fan of Miss Wozniacki. She's quite good at tennis too!

On a serious note, Boulter looked like a decent player in the making and hopefully she'll go on to better things off the back of today.

Just seen this clip of Tomic press conference after he lost in straight sets today... bit frustrating to hear him be like this when there's so many hard working pros out there that would do anything to be in the draw and play for the prize money he got for not giving a toss today.

  • Don't agree with the question from the journo really, ok he was pathetic but why should he give his money back?
Equally though, it's pretty ridiculous of Tomic to use Federer and Djokovic as examples in his reply.

If he's bored at the age of 24 in a grand slam then there's obviously some serious issues there.

Makes me think of David Bentley - decent at football but just didn't enjoy it. It's unusual and he comes across a bit immature but least he's being honest.

Players starting who know they are not fit to play should not be paid. Total insult to the fans, the organisers and the other players.

Apparently in other Tournaments they get to keep the prize money yet the Lucky Loser takes their place.

In the Grand Slams though this isnt applicable (probably because of the large sums) - Should definitely be looked at again; as McEnroe says, if they're injured and pull out before the game give them half the prize money on offer... If they play in the First Round yet pull out halfway through injured then they get a quarter of the prize money.

A terrible day for the centre court crowd yesterday, losing both their main matches

When you think of Aussie tennis players, you think of drive and character and hard work. The Woodies, Hewitt, Cash, Laver etc. With Tomic and Kyrgios, you just think of wasted talent and childish behaviour...
  • Was on court 12 a lot yesterday

Heather Watson's in the zone this morning... won her first set against the 18th seed 6-0 in about 20 minutes.

It's good, though the other girl is playing utter shit.

I can see both sides of this argument. It's really unfair on the crowd who have paid money to see the tennis. On the other hand, if you're a really low ranked player, £35,000 for a 1st round loss makes a huge difference to their career

I turn on just in time to see Sevastova win her first game and start her comeback...
