ill be honest i don't usually get choked up by these sort of stories and there are kids all over the world that this is probably happening to, maybe its the football connection but hes 6 years old ffs, this is when life's unfair you have all sorts of wrongun's breathing air, and then there's a little fella like this.16

Huge respect for Defoe . It's a sad story, but the way he has treated that little boy has been fantastic19

I agree. Of course it is unbearably sad, but also on many levels it is tremendously uplifting as a great example of friendship, love and compassion.Chrissy\\\'s Army!! said:Huge respect for Defoe . It's a sad story, but the way he has treated that little boy has been fantastic
You are a fine human being, Mr Defoe.11 -
It would be nice if a few other footballers could learn from Mr Defoe.4

Just got a notification on my phone to say Bradley has passed away... RIP little fella!!0
-
Our upmost Respect & thoughts go out to you Mr Jermaine Defoe now your "best friend" has passed
RIP Bradley0 -
He's gone from being a disloyal money grabber to a truly caring individual in my book.5

A really top man who has shown his true colours during the heartbreaking & uplifting (if it's possible at the same time) story of little Bradley.
Forget all that stuff he did to us when he was a teenager - he's turned into a fine man, and a great footballer, let's celebrate him.2 -
It wasn't this that changed my attitude toward Defoe. The way he dealt with the loss of his half-brother after an assault, father aged just 49 and cousin aged just 21, all over a few short years, was incredible to me.2

Very touching interview, comes across as a really decent guy with a big heart. So sad about Bradley.0

I wouldn't be on here if I was a cat. I'd be too busy licking my bollocks all day.Dazzler21 said:I think you mean 'you're'.

This was a nice thread about the way Jermain Defoe has handled himself with such dignity, grace & compassion given recent events. Why does every thread on Charlton Life have to turn into utter bollocks??9

A footballer shows some humility and compassion and people will still try drag him down.kentaddick said:

It's happening too much at the moment. I had to walk away from the mis-heard song lyrics thread for similar reasons.North Lower Neil said:This has turned weird.

I'm not bothered about the leaving us as a kid thing, so many years ago and he was young.
More concerned about the fact he's 39 and hasn't scored much in Scotland for the last 18 months or so despite playing for the best team in the league.0
