Battling win for Murray, but he will have to up his game if he is going to have a chance against the likes of Federer or Nadal later on.

Yes, it was a struggle when you look at how well the other top players have played

He seemed very passive out there, waiting for an error from his opponent, rather than trying to win points himself

Gritty performance from Andy, albeit with some very worrying moments before he finally claimed victory.

Let's hope his demons have been exorcised now as far as this tournament is concerned .

As someone once said, there's inevitably a bumpy road somewhere along the way.

    Onwards & upwards, Sir Andy.

Fognini beat him in the Davis Cup (albeit on clay) a few years back.

Everyone has bogey opponents in sport maybe Fognini is one of Murray's.

Tsonga gone out in five sets. Another dangerous player gone in Murray's quarter of the draw.

Murray faces Benoit Paire in the next round, then the winner of Querrey vs Anderson in the QF if he beats Paire.

Yeah the quarters in the other half could be something special. Definitely the stronger half depth wise.

Wow, Willis and 18 year old Jay Clarke put out the reigning doubles champions Mahut and Herbert!

I think they were given a wild card.

They've certainly more than justified it.

EDIT: They hadn't even played together in a tournament level match before Wimbledon!

A real tussle between Kerber and Muguruza

Great win for Muguruza after a pulsating 3rd set. Really pleased she won, as she was the one trying to win the match (going for winners and attacking the net) while Kerber was waiting for her opponent to make a mistake
