I think we have at least another season with RD Im afraid. He wont drop his asking price until its clear that no one will bite, and it will take a while to reach that point.0

Someone on another forum, no not that one, commented that the Aussies are still around and have major middle-east backing now and are coming back with an improved offer. I read that on Saturday evening.
Only passing on what I read, I have no idea of the validity, truth or fact on the comment.
Could be another load of old hogwash, like most of the other 'takeover' rumours!!10 -
If true, hopefully taking the stadium as well & getting rid of Duchatelet for good.Redmidland said:Someone on another forum, no not that one, commented that the Aussies are still around and have major middle-east backing now and are coming back with an improved offer. Only reporting what has been said elsewhere, like I said don't shoot the messenger.bazjonster said:

Its a strange day when I looked forward more to the Bromley fixtures coming out than the Charlton ones and I'm jealous of Leyton Orient. Let me rephrase that. I am envious of a non league club because they have promising new ownership. Just fuck off Roland and give me my club back.bigstemarra said:How depressing.
Given that we are down to discussing the relative merits of our sellable youth products because there isn't the slightest sniff of a rumour or any gossip which suggests that a sale process is even possible, let alone imminent, it appears that my estrangement from my football club is likely to continue for the foreseeable future....
It feels strange. Normally, I would be eagerly poring through any possible transfer rumours in eager anticipation of a squad being assembled with the potential to bring us glory next season....but this summer, I haven't even looked at the transfer thread once, and I can't see myself doing so, either. I'm just not interested in the machinations being orchestrated (or not) by a manager and administration that I feel no affinity or affection for and I just wish would disappear and never come back.
As it stands, this is not my club anymore....it's like watching a horror movie where a familiar old friend has been transformed into a slavering, mindless zombie. As a diseased and decaying CAFC limply staggers along in search of brains (which would be profits for RD if I'm going to pursue this tortured analogy) I simply cannot recognise it as my dear, cherished, contented and proud friend that was once so full of life....not least because it stinks pretty badly - a rather off-putting, foetid stench of rot, misery and death which I (and many others it seems) find utterly repellent. Quite simply, I don't recognise it anymore.
I look forward to the day when the curse is lifted and I get my beloved friend back . Sadly, it doesn't look like that is going to happen any time soon...9 -
If I had a £ for every time someone mentioned middle eastern investors I'd be fronting up a bid of my own!bazjonster said:

Given we haven't sold any players this summer and resigned Holmes, it is pretty clear to me that he is willing to absorb what must be significant operating losses this year in hopes of an increased valuation in the championship. Let's hope we get promoted and that spurs the interest necessary to get Roland out.0

and if we get to the championship and still there are no takers, he will probably invest more to bump us up into the premiership in the hope that will generate some interest from some mug who wants to invest in a winning team.Bostonaddick said:Given we haven't sold any players this summer and resigned Holmes, it is pretty clear to me that he is willing to absorb what must be significant operating losses this year in hopes of an increased valuation in the championship. Sadly I think the nearest we've come to a takeover was that last nights match was sponsored by a Chinese takeaway7

Paul Elliott on his way to meetings in town this morning, smirked when I asked if Charlton takeover related.
Source - He's sitting next me on the train from broth south to Victoria.10 -
Heard from a good source that aussies still very much there, Roland has lowered the price and it could be done in weeks.9
-
Why do this to us! Actually a terrible time to sell as it might mean no signings2

I don't see anything happening until at least January.
And much will depend at that stage on where we are with regards to possible promotion or mid-table nothingness.0 - Sponsored links:

If Roland thought we had any chance of promotion he wouldn't sell in January, he would hold out for a higher price in the summer.stonemuse said:I don't see anything happening until at least January.

There is no terrible time to get rid of Roland and Katrien. I'd happily get new owners in the day after the window closes if it means this shower are gonecafcfan1990 said:Why do this to us! Actually a terrible time to sell as it might mean no signings

That's exactly my point, but if we are mid-table he may finally give in.cfgs said:

I don't see that any sale would be heavily dependent on promotion or not. There are possible arguments in either direction as to how promotion or relegation could help or hinder a sale. That suggests to me that it's not that important. Of course, our league position will affect what people are prepared to pay but the key factor is how fed up with it Roly gets. We need to do everything in our power to ensure that he's very fed up.13

Hmmm so although I want success.....we should all pray for mediocrity? Hopefully promotion and new owners.stonemuse said:

They've learned from their mistakes and we are going to storm the league this season.
Got my plastic Kangeroo ready to chuck on the pitch7 -
Not heard anything on that, did say they were really encouraged by our youth set upvff said:
