I thought Alex Bruce was on trial at Bolton . Not sure why we are linked with him unless someone is leaving .0
-
It's all a misunderstanding. One of the Australians interested in buying us was overhead at the Valley saying "G'Day Bruce"6

Was this 5Live thing with Robinson pre-recorded? He was meant to be at Leyton Orient this evening watching Mavididi, who happened to score again tonight in a 5-1 win for Arsenal's U23s.
Okay, have just seen that he was on the phone this evening for 5 minutes so that makes sense.0 -
That would be quite an irritating signing tbh0
-
Reeves still not signed? Not surprising I suppose. If only we'd spoken to him earlier than January it might have been sorted by now.1

Alex Bruce was in the studio with SCP & had already said that he had been training with 2 un-named clubs but nothing had come of it. The presenters then said that they would take a cut of his signing-on fee if they could fix him up with a club live on air (joke). They then had a couple of pre-recorded interviews & a couple of live ones - one being with Simon Grayson (Larry to his friends) who is now managing Sunderland & joked with him that Alex Bruce was still free - later they had the 3 min chat with KR and said the same thing to him..........I couldn't understand the whole interview as the phone line was not good & KR's English (scouse) is not that clear via a Nokia brick, but the gist was the same.roseandcrown said:
I would say that's exactly what it wascantersaddick said:Robbo and others seemed to suggest that he was after Alex Bruce on 5live tonight. Unless it was all a massive joke that I didn't get..
So, to dispel any rumours that we are signing Alex Bruce - IT WAS A JOKE.5 -
You really don't get how this thread works, do you golfie?1

I'd tell Reeves to f*** off.Billericay Dickie said:Reeves obviously has a very high opinion of himself.
The trouble is that at best he is a lower table Championship / League 1 player and clubs are not exactly falling over themselves to pay the money that he believes that he is worth.
The season starts in 4 days and even if someone signs him I doubt that he is anywhere near match fit. He has missed a complete pre season training and will be playing catch up until the middle of September.
I hope that Charlton tell him that they are not interested.
Are we so desperate to sign somebody who appears not too interested in signing for us?0 -
The Ben Reeves deal is close, should be agreed by this evening. There is still some negotiating to be done. If all goes well it will probably be announced Thursday. This is from an extremely good source.28

Genuine question - What can still need negotiationg when we first made him an offer over six weeks ago?dickplumb said:The Ben Reeves deal is close, should be agreed by this evening. Is he actually training with us?
Safe to say this window hasn't gone as he planned0 -
Have you not read any of the posts, if you had you would know the answer!!!!! We are negotiating over jeans because he currently owns jeans with holes in the knee.....slim fit, boot fit, skinny fit, theses issues don't get resolved in 5 minuteskings hill addick said:

We are negotiating over the amount of polish he needs for his rather large forehead..15

We should get Polish Pete back then.king addick said:We are negotiating over the amount of polish he needs for his rather large forehead..

He's contracted to Gerry Anderson Inc and is finishing off the "Thunderbirds Return" movie, currently at Pinewood. Katie has found this one difficult as there are strings attached and the dopey cow keeps calling him Scott Tracey...4

Have you spoken to Reeves and know that he isn't interested in signing for us? If you have then you're more than welcome to tell him where to go but i suspect you know nothing so i suggest you don't tell him where to go as he is a very good football player.ElfsborgAddick said:

Do you honestly think these contracts are easy to sort out? I'm no fan of the regime at all but i do understand that signing a footballer isn't an easy job.
Have a bit of common sense man.5 -
I fully understand there is a lot involved in negotiations / contracts etc but we managed to get 4 other incoming deals over the line and also a number of outgoing deals executed. The longer this goes on the more likely another club will come up on the rails and nab him. I hope KR has a back up plan.Bolderhumphreyreid said:

Let the pikey's keep him, Reeves is twice the playerScoham said:3 -
I can't see us being able to attract too many better players at this level who won't cost a fee, so yes we probably are desperate to sign him. Whether he signs this week, next week, or on the last day of the window, he'll be a great signing for us.ElfsborgAddick said:

We probably should've kept hold of Ceballos until Reeves signed though.7 -
Different type of player isn't he? Until last season Wright never scored goals and I remember him being more of a deep lying midfielder that sat back and passed the ball about. Maybe we'd have gone for him if Kashi had left.0

I am so glad that Josh Wright is not joining us.8

Really? They won't just have a backup plan, they will have several.robinofottershaw said:

Losing out on players, players leaving, injuries etc etc is the way of football. Every club (even ours) has a list of targets, for every position, with an expected price range or expected loan cost which is continually updated.
The club will have made a decision as to if they will try and recruit another if this one falls through, and if they have, soundings will have been taken.3 -
I prefer an Atlantic, wet and washy, 4-4-2. If we don't get to the play offs at least, I'll jump of "Beachy Head".Northstandpieeater said:The way we are going this year we are going to be playing 4-6-0.
