De Kock was itching. Just leave that shot in the locker as a left hander.

    Ali 5-69.
  • England should move bairstow up to 5 and give someone like duckett a go at 7 to help blood them in

When Woakes is fit you could move Stokes, Bairstow and Ali all up once space, slot Woakes in at 8 and the batting would be no weaker than it is now and have 6 bowlers, then it's just finding an opener to face the Aussies

I watched the highlights on C5 earlier - they went to the adverts after the SA 9th wicket went down & came back to show the 10th a ball later........wtf ????? who was editing that ???? totally spoilt the "atmosphere" of Mo taking 2 in 2 & winning the Test !!!! Total planks & the sooner The beeb or C4 get the rights to the highlights the better.

I think what will happen is that Stoneman will play in Windies series, and maybe Foakes will come in to keep wicket, allowing Bairstow to bat at 5.

This what I will would do as well. However the selectors won't. They will stick with the same team, maybe even Balance coming in. Whoever plays should get loads of runs as Windes sides is very poor and then be selected for Australia, I suspect Stoneham and Foakes will have to wait until 2018.

well they had to show the break somewhere, and it's not as if there was fever pitch excitement around the Saffers slipping to an expected defeat once Amla was out...

Bizarre not to try Stoneman in this series, as facing the saffer bowling attack would have been a real test of of Test credentials. Whoever comes in against the Windies will get far easier runs which will be no guideline to coping with the Australian attack at the Waca

I'm not gonna complain as they are key to Surrey staying up this season.

    No 2 spinner

In an interview yesterday, he was still suggesting that there could be matches in which we picked 2 spinners, and he would be No 2 spinner. To make Moeen No 2 spinner, he'd have to be one hell of a player!
