Really sorry to hear mate. Your Dad will still be with you every time you go to the Valley, through the memories that will flood back of certain games, certain players, special moments. My old Dad passed away in 1998 but he just won't give up his beloved addicks that easy!

Sorry for your loss. Thinking of you & your family.
I'm glad you got to spend that precious time together during the match & he got that irreplaceable feeling, one last time, of a win when the teams worked hard for it.0 -

So true, it won't feel like it right now but much better than seeing him suffer with no chance of getting better.Curb_It said:Well that's sad news.
I'm glad you got the parking sorted and that the team won for him.
A very quick illness which is hard to deal with but maybe it's for the best that you didn't see him didn't suffer too much. Though I'm sure you don't think that now.
RIP Waldo.
I'll always be grateful that I was able to get my old man to Brands Hatch one last time before he passed away. He used to go there as a kid and always loved it there and took me when I was young.
Am I right in thinking you follow the darts? If so, happy to meet for a pint when you play the wings.
Dave - yes I have Darts season ticket these days - got so fed up with Charlton a few years back, I stopped going - Dad was upset I wouldn't go, but understood - as usual he was a better man than me and stuck it out
He first took me to the Valley in 1977 and we had many happy (and less happy !!!) seasons watching together - we had season tickets next to each other for many seasons
Our Charlton highlight together - well it's the playoff final - the hug we had when we won was a hug we had not had for many many years (we also got pissed as farts afterwards together !!)
Rest assured - I have never stopped being an Addick - and Saturday made me realise that I miss Charlton and the Valley
I now need to juggle my footie between Charlton and Darts - the bug is back (thank you Dad)
But yes - a beer at the Darts / Wings matches is on (Darts to win of course !!)5 -
