Charltonian Athleticius or What did the Romans ever do for us?

Extensive research reveals that the Valley is built on a Roman camp.

This might explain the "Romanes eunt domus" graffiti in the covered end toilets.

But what else have the Romans done for us?

  • Someone has drawn on your map....

  • Romans they go the house?
  • They clearly haven't built the Aqueduct yet as that massive turd who owns us is still floating about.
  • Rolandicus Raticus and Katrianus Squirrelfaceus surely a gift that keeps on giving from the Roman gods, its Pinocchio Roman nose that gives it away and Roland's Ceaser complex.
  • Even our earliest crowds were a hard bunch to please.

According to the Google Latin translator Squirrel face would be inamabilis sciurus faciem tuam. But personally I prefer Sciurus faeces.

    It says "Romans go home"

    It says "Romans go home"
no it doesn't, conjugate the verb to go
  • And meanwhile the Emperor fiddles and dances in his private villa lit only by B20 & Card members dipped in wax whilst SE7 burns

    Romans they go the house?

The imperative of the Latin verb 'ire' to go is i (for singular) and ite (for plural).

It would be domum if it is singular in the accusative. Therefore, shouldn't it be "Romans, they go the houses"?
  • Eddicus Firmanicus always struck me as having a lot of the Noble Roman about him .. perhaps he was a reincarnation of the Roman Propraetor who ruled the roost over ancient(ish) S E 7

It would have been a perfect location for a camp. Very close to the railway line. Them Romans were proper Charlton.

Half the local pubs hadn't been shut down by then either.

Charlton Athleticus - playing crap since 45BC
  • Roland's helmet
  • Rare film of early CARD (Campaign againt Roman Domination) protest

They started building a gladiator Lorem Complex (training complex) in AD57, near a tiny hamlet called Novum Elteham.

Still on stage 2, digging the trench but starting to plan the mosaics for the changing rooms

Roman Emperor Meire and Chief Consul Antonio Keohanus insist that everything is going to plan and budget, giving thanks to Roland, the God of Dancing and Almighty Fuckups.

The local wineshop of the complex being the Apiarium.

  • Typo on that map.

    Should have said Romany Camp.
Though soon after they moved to Gillingham.
