    Wow sounds like we're going for him. Apparently the wigan boss Cook doesn't like players running their contracts down and Grigg is in his last year and out of the side.

    Do we actually reckon this has happened or KR's chance to say we tried. If we can bid 1.2 for Grigg, then it won't be acceptable to end up with a nobody or cheap loan. In fairness to the owners, Grigg is possibly the only striker willing to come who everybody would be impressed with. Likes of Godden and Akinde are largely unproven.

    Matty Taylor joined Bristol City for around 300,000, surely they wouldn't want too much profit out of the deal given how he hasn't done a great deal there.

    Griggs probably the slighter better option as little bit more proven at this level but Taylor did well at Rovers. Certainly wouldn't be against him and I agree, 500k rising to 700k ish would be enough to get him I reckon.

    yeah there's no doubt about that. Grigg has done it at 3 different clubs in League 1 too. I would definitely go for him but just saying Taylor is not a bad alternative if Grigg is out of reach.

    No way would we pay £1m + for a League 1 player....more bullshit from KR to look as if we are trying. The fees are now going to be inflated as there is only a week or so left of the transfer window. Should have done our business early like Bury, Fleetwood etc instead of hankering after the likes of Reeves all summer. Wrong priorities.

    I agree, I think we will get a loan. I doubt Wigan would loan us Grigg, I am hoping Bristol City change their mind on Matty Taylor.

    How do you know they haven't been trying? It is possible to go after more than one player at a time.

    And it is conceivable that the fees go down not up as clubs get desperate to shift players in the last year of their contracts, like Grigg.

    Doubt that tweet is real, the other day KR said we wouldn't be spending that sort of money.

    Can't see how going after Reeves stops us signing a striker?

    With Duchatelet it's never completely that he won't spend. It's that largely our big fees have always been totally misspent.

    Agreed he has spent he has just spent wrong, if he had just given the budget to Powell and let him crack on he would be sitting in the premiership by now laughing his nuts off with the dosh he has earned.

    I think now though he has decided no more and is hoping to either sell or that KR pulls it off with free's and limited money.

    Robbo has been over to see RD so maybe he has convinced him to spend, or it has to be balanced with sales/loss of wages (hence his comments that 1 or 2 may leave).

    Wigan have a difficult hand to play. If he does not go this window his fee could drop, do they need money or want to spend? Who else is going to offer over £1.2 mil for a striker who did not do great in the Championship?

    If this our opening bid we will get our man.

    Not sure why Robbo would be discussing our business with anyone though. Never has before and would I think would only do so with permission.

    I think the bloke has met Robbo a few times so not totally unbelievable.

    Come on KM, see if you can convince them they really need Novak and he is worth every penny of £1mil in the deal.
