serves them right, Should never have been "given" the Olympic Stadium & would love to see it 2/3rds empty whilst playing Burton Albion in the Championship next season.
From what I saw earlier if Liverpool had their shooting boots on it could have equalled Palarse's 9 goals against the same opposition. Missed at least 4 chances in the last 10 mins alone.12 -
I like Bilic. Challenging situation over the last season and a half - stadium move, Payet situation last year, and I don't think he's been particularly well-funded in the transfer market. If he does go then I'm sure he'll do a good somewhere else.
If we still lived in an era when managers were allowed to have a bad run without getting the sack then I'd back him to keep them up and have a better time next year. Having said that, I would understand them getting rid of him if there was a really good manager waiting in the wings who would almost certainly improve them. Sounds like Moyes is virtually a done deal though, which seems like change for the sake of change to me. Doubt he'll last more than 18 months.
Anyway, whatever they do, fingers crossed that we get a day out at a half empty Olympic Stadium next year.5 -
After the complete failure at Sunderland, I'm surprised that Moyes is still seen as an attractive option by other clubs. Yes it was a tough situation, but he did a pretty poor job there7

Superstition probably ought not to be a thing, but I can't help feeling that the (good) old West Ham is gone forever because of the dreadful home ground issue which the leadership of the club have brought upon themselves and visited on their fans.
If you think about ourselves and how much of our history is intertwined with the Valley story, and other teams that have certainly struggled when they have had stadium issues like Brighton, or Bristol Rovers and others such as Rotherham. Also consider the impact of any properly conducted Stadium changes on clubs like Shrewsbury or Boro. Taken together it says to me that your home ground has a depth of impact that goes beyond reasoning and stats.
I fail to see the circumstances where West ham at the taxpayers stadium would be a success, unless you see the football experience as one of passive consumption, or unless you realise they're getting a home ground for free which satisfies the bean counters within their club.
Even Crystal Palace seem more 'authentic' if you like than West Ham, and when you consider what a plastic club Crystal Palace generally are that's saying something.
There are genuine West ham supporters, and I feel for them in how they have basically been played, but it is up to their supporter base to react, not take it lying down.8 -

Was talking to a customer at work the other day who mentioned he had to get off early to get to the West Ham game on the Friday night against Brighton. I asked him what he thought of the move away from Upton Park to the Olympic....he replied that he had only got his season ticket this season and had never been to see West Ham before. Considering he was in his 50s/60s I found this really really strange.
Especially when West Ham like to think of themselves as the hardcore group of fans.... said it all about their current situation really!2 -
Rumour has it Moyes will be offered a contract until the end of the season, with Phil Neville as part of his back-room team and possibly as assistant manager.
Gotta build a stable base for the future, obviously.1 -

Interesting to see what the West Ham fans think of moyes football, hardly matches what they believe is their way of playing.
Based on the owners comments both bilic and fans might have expected more resources following the move. Sacking bilic may expose the owners to more criticism when the next manager similarly fails5 -

Remember listening to David Sullivan or Gold on talkSPORT in the summer and I thought they would struggle.
Would love to them get relegated. Especially, because I don't think any of the players would bring in any huge transfer fees and all will be very difficult to get rid of them.

WHU spent over £40m in the summer and must have a massive wage bill to attract the likes of Zabaleta and Chicharito. If a club is prepared to spend £20m on Marco Arnautovic, a bloke that has 1 good game in 10, they deserve everything they get imo.SheffieldRed said:

I like the idea of Moyes for 6 months. They could call him Interim Manager and wheel out old Trevor B or someone like that to say to the fans, "We think he deserves the chance to prove he can do the job permanently."0

Everton's last minute win has consigned them to the relegation zone, which is propped up by Palace. A most satisfactory state of affairs, as John Major used to say.12

Moyes did well at Everton where he had time to build slowly. He is not a quick fix manager. If they bring him in they are in serious trouble. Would love to see them relegated although not at the escape of Palace. Both would be a dream.3

Moyes has been a disaster at his last three clubs - why would he be any different at Wet Spam?
Only guaranteed outcome in terms of PL survival would be Fat Sam but that doesn't really solve their longer term problem of producing quality football and still surviving in the PL.
Allardyce will keep you up but at horrific cost aesthetically and it may be a problem anyway because the players West Ham have brought it would struggle to play the Fat Sam way.1 -

I just hope we get promoted & the current bottom 3 of the Premiership stays the same, so next season there would be.........Us, W/Ham, Palarse, Fulham, QPR, Brentford, Millwall (unless they get relegated - which would be nice) so every 4th game would be a London Derby.3

I’ve been stuck in bed with food poisoning for the last 36 hours.
