    9 wickets have gone down since I left work 4.5 hrs ago and despite having TMS and the TV on for most of that time I have managed not to see or hear a single wicket 'live'. Life with a toddler right there.

    So are we all now agreed that, even without us having no Stokes, there is nothing between these two sides?

    Too many "happy hookers" in our innings but the refreshing aspect of our batting is that the players like Vince, Malan and Stoneman were our top contributors and all got 50s. If Cook can find some form (Root will score runs come what may) then our top 5 will look superior to theirs to be followed by Bairstow and Moeen who should really swap in order.

    Surely this is the last time we play four right-arm fast-medium seamers in the same Ashes Test in Australia (Stokes being arguably not quite like the others) - Crane surely, surely in the frame for the rest of the series
