iTunes question

I have a PC, with iTunes on it. I have this connected to my Sonos system. That is, my Sonos points to a folder on my PC in which all my iTunes tunes are stored. Great.

But, my PC's bust. The hard drive has crashed and won't boot. So now, my Sonos serves up everything except what's in my iTunes.

In the simplest-possible terms, is there a way I can retrieve the many years' worth of iTunes purchases I have made and plonk them onto a PC that works? Or is my "record collection" now, effectively and permanently borked?

  • Sign into iTunes with your apple ID on a different PC (when you get a new one) and restore purchases https://support.apple.com/kb/PH20526?locale=en_US

If you put anything on there from CDs you'll have to rip them to the computer again

Thank you - so that should restore all the purchases from iTunes onto my new/current PC?

Any advice on how to get my Sonos to point to the new/current PC?

I've got my iTunes & my Sonos library on a separate hard drive and attached to that is a portable HDD which backs up once a week.

You should be able to redirect Sonos within the Manage, Settings, Music Library, Folders.
