Yeah, call on Robbo to address the fans in the car park and he'll be out there like a shotalan dugdale said:Maybe Karl can bring him into the car park when he carries out his weekly chat.

He'll put a statement out before saturday after reading this. This is what we now have to threaten to do to get anything out of this poxy club.30

Sometimes you ask a question to get more information.eaststandmike said:Well done CARD for putting a bit of pressure on RM but I think the following statement is going a bit too far.
"We want a guarantee that if Konsa goes without a takeover then a significant part of the fee will be made available to Robinson to strengthen the team. We also want a timeline for takeover negotiations with clarity about whether a deal is possible or likely before the end of January"
CARD have zero chance of a "guarantee" any transfer money will be given to KR to strengthen and equally a timeline for takeover negotiations.
Sometimes you ask a question to expose the unwillingness to give information.

I dont understand how people are saying this wont achieve anything.
Surely it is a win win for fans. It is now saying come on Murray, keep your promise to speak to the fans. If he does, we may find out more information (although it will most likely be lies) but if he doesn't, what does it show to the fans, press and even more the potential new owners? It makes his case for staying on even harder to justify as I am sure he is claiming to be the middle man between the owners and supporters.5 -
Why do they keep saying 'our/the Spokesperson' ?0
-
It’s pointless because you won’t be told anything
Let’s look at the record of Murray
Lie
Lie
Lie
Lie
Join people lying
Ignore others lying
Stand by liars
I know as a fan body let’s ask one of the liars to tell us more than what’s out in public already
See when you start telling people things are imminent you get people mad on information and going stir crazy when they are not updated Minute by minute
He is selling people are interested in buying it’s negotiable it’s negotiations and it’s on going
When it’s done it’s done until then it ain’t done

Murray is pretty much the only authoritative person running the club for RD & RD needs his backing.killerandflash said:
What power does Murray have? It's not as if RD has paid much attention to the fans beforehand...Covered End said:
Quite. The chances of Murray addressing an angry crowd is slim, but CARD obviously know that.colthe3rd said:"Mr Murray, would you like to go out and talk to the angry mob?"
"No thanks. I'll have another glass of wine though."
Presumably, it a tactic to put the heat on Murray to encourage him to put the heat on RD to sell up asap.
I imagine Murray will put out a statement stating that negotiations are ongoing, the details are confidential, not wanting to reveal information that might derail them etc
If Murray walks or refuses to cooperate with RD, can the club run for the rest of the season without serious problems ?2 -
Is it acceptable for Duchatelet to pocket £4m for Konsa and leave the team weakened then? What if he sells Aribo too for whatever he can get? Should fans just accept that?eaststandmike said:Well done CARD for putting a bit of pressure on RM but I think the following statement is going a bit too far.

To any one saying this is pointless well it's not your time and effort. Nothing pointless about a group of people coming together to fight for something they believe in. Fair play to all involved.28

It's already running with serious problems. We haven't been able to fill the bench in our last two matches. I haven't noticed Murray doing anything to address that problem. He has no clout at the club.Covered End said:

Righto
I’ve been waiting for a decent response from the club for years now.
You think that by card stamping it’s feet answers will just roll of Murray’s tongue?
He might say something. But he won’t tell us anything.
Partly because he doesn’t know. And partly because he couldn’t care less about the fans. He’s made that abundantly clear.
Each day this sham continues we LOSE.
Empty words mean nothing. The only time I would even begin to think we are on some sort off winning track is the day that Duchâtelet, and Murray have left this club for good.

Good tactical move. Sometimes you take a position and play your best hand. Some people rather do nothing but so be it; you can't do everyone's thinking for them all the time!8

That's a separate matter. Unfortunately, nobody can stop Roland doing that all the time that he owns the club.Airman Brown said:

Asking for assurances from Murray is going to get us nowhere and any assurances that he might give would be worthless anyway.
Protesting directly against Duchatelet is the only worthwhile action.1 -

So we have potential buyers of the club at the game on Saturday and then CARD come along with a pointless exercise as i think it is fair to say that not one person from the club will come out and make a statement, all what will happen is make a potential buyer think twice, surely it would be better to get behind the team, create an atmosphere and potential buyers thinking we could have something good here.
Imagine selling a house would you let potential buyers view your property when the noisy neighbours are in or out. No logic whatsoever and will get no thanks from the management team.5 -
How is it a separate matter? Murray may not be able to stop Duchatelet but he doesn’t have participate in and defend his actions. He has chosen to do so. Why shouldn’t he have to explain himself?superclive98 said:

All protests are ultimately “against Duchatelet” but asking questions of his main collaborator is a reasonable and more easily practical move this weekend.9 -
Nothing anyone has done so far has been helpful has it? The old scrotum is still here and dragging his duct tape over a greedy sale. I will be there and will call on Murray with everyone else to face his supporters and tell us what the fuck is going on. He's the link between the Owner and the Supporters as I remember it and even recently was elevated to an even loftier status of Special-Go-Between.YTS1978 said:Not sure this will be particularly helpful to be honest!

So the choice is to sit back and just wait and hope that happens or at least try to put, the albeit little, pressure we can on the club to speak.carly burn said:Henry Irving said:

No one is saying "well, if they make a statement then everything will be fine" hence the call for more than an update but promises about the funding of the squad from the Holmes and Konsa fees.
That is a win.
it is not total victory in the "war", that, as you say, means getting Duchatelet out but it would be a win.

If the manager is openly criticising the owner to fans then it really is time that Murray acts as the voice of the fans and informs us of the current state of play. He has nowhere to hide and this is a clever tactical move from CARD.4

The way I see it is we the fans are still being shat on from a great height by Duchatelet. We toned down the protests because we wanted nothing to even possibly get in the way of Robinson mounting a promotion challenge - but our reward is to effectively see this season being sabotaged by the ownership. We've been very, very patient, but enough is enough. I'm not going to continue to lay back and think of England while I'm being shafted by that deluded old Belgian nut-job.
Duchatelet has been backed all the way by Murray, as far as we can tell. Murray probably won't come out. In which case it gives the lie to his boast about being the Board's interface with the fans. If he does make a statement, then fair play. Either way, time to call him out. I think, out of respect for his past achievements and because of the toxic presence of Meire at the club, Murray has had an easy ride for far too long.
So it's time to dust off the black and white again. To come and show that we've had enough. Whether or not you want to actually in to see the game afterwards is immaterial, come down and take part in the rally to show Murray and Duchatelet that we're not going away until the club is sold.
Yes, it's a gentle prod to start with. But note "...the gloves are coming off. Unless the situation is resolved, this is likely to be the start of an escalating series of lawful protests, both at The Valley and in Belgium."25 -
Maybe just maybe it will force someone from the club apart from Robinson to make a statement about what's going on, even if it's before Saturday, as i'm sure they (club) wouldn't like a scene.WhenIwasLittleBoy said:So we have potential buyers of the club at the game on Saturday and then CARD come along with a pointless exercise as i think it is fair to say that not one person from the club will come out and make a statement, all what will happen is make a potential buyer think twice, surely it would be better to get behind the team, create an atmosphere and potential buyers thinking we could have something good here.

No it is not acceptable if the sale of a player leaves the team weakened and the money is not reinvested and I did begin with well done CARD for putting the pressure on RM.Airman Brown said:

However it is RD's club and his money keeping it afloat so if he wants to grab some back before any sale goes through he is entitled to do it. It stinks but there is nothing we can do about it.
I have been a supporter for 50 years and have always watched Charlton sell players for "X" and buy replacements for "Y". In most cases the value of "Y" was always lower than "X".
My point was no member of the current board is going to publicly state that money from the sale of any player will be re-invested in the playing squad before, during or after any sale of the club goes though.
And I would say the same applies to any potential sale of the club. Due Diligence is not just about looking at the finances, I would guess if there is a serious offer on the table confidentiality agreements have been signed meaning all parties have to keep quiet.
This applies even more so if any buyer is listed on the stock exchange as any leak of news could lead to a drastic change in the share price.
