    Great advert at the time.
    Peter Wyngarde smells .........Great !
  • Always had amazing style.... Him and Vaughn Toulouse both had a look.

Loved Department S the band but not the programme. I always wonder what Wyngarde made of them?

There will be a candle lit in S.E London tonight. One of my Dads mates was nicknamed Jason King, he was the spit, moustache, coat over the shoulders a true 60/70's icon. He even dyed his hair moustache n all black until well into his seventies, a real character. I believe, or like to think so, that he never ever cottoned on that he was called JK by everyone.

Ladies man in his day.... RIP

No wonder he put THAT incident down to imbibing a large quantity of wine.

& slipped on a bar of soap ................... deary deary me not sure what would be more embarrassing, JK drunkenly slipping on a bar of soap & ending up where he shouldn't have been or doing the house work naked & falling backwards onto a cucumber that just happened to be lying propped up where fell & sat on it, ending up in casualty. Not me I hasten to add or JK (as far as I know) but a popular urban myth years back

I wonder if he was the inspiration for the TV show Toast of London ?

I'm convinced he was the inspiration for a character called Jason Wyngarde in the X-Men comics around issue 130 - the name's a conflation of Jason King and Peter Wyngarde and the look was the same.

He was allegedly permanently pissed during the 10 years that he lived with Alan Bates.

You missed him Len, he would have been quite acceptable.
